A rape case involving a Blackstone man will move to the superior court following indictments by a grand jury this week.

A Dukes County grand jury handed down indictments Wednesday against William M. Clasby, 51, on six counts of rape and five counts of indecent assault and battery on an intellectually disabled person.

Mr. Clasby was arraigned in June in Edgartown district court on the same charges. According to police, he delivered magazines to Island retailers on a regular basis, and specifically targeted the alleged victim.

He was employed at the Edgartown house of correction as a cook from October 2012 to February 2014, when he was terminated.

In June Hon. J. Thomas Kirkman set bail at $30,000, and Mr. Clasby was later released, with conditions including staying away from the alleged victim and the alleged victim’s workplace.

An arraignment date has not been scheduled.
