Oak Bluffs police are investigating vandalism to the Christmas decorations in Ocean Park, the department announced Saturday.

The trees made of Christmas lights and other decorations in the park, provided by Crossland Landscape, were vandalized sometime overnight Friday, the department said in a Facebook post Saturday morning.

Lieut. Timothy Williamson told the Gazette that three of the trees were knocked down.

"Crossland Landscape has put a lot of time and effort into making the park beautiful for families to enjoy," the Facebook post said. "The Oak Bluffs police does not tolerate this type of behavior."

Police said they are increasing patrols in the area and will continue to investigate the vandalism. Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to call the police department at 508-693-0750.
