The shelter is happy to announce that adoptions are pending for both Charlie, the 18-month-old golden retriever pup, as well as for Bob Marley, the mid-size Lab/boxer mix. Our fingers are crossed in the hope that these dogs have found their forever homes.

In the cat room, 11-year-old white and black boy Chaps and orange elder statesman Milo are anticipating the arrival Curious. Curious is a nine-year old tuxedo male who adores attention. And adult female Maryann ,the tuxedo found as a stray on Chappaquiddick, will be joining them shortly as well. Our newest arrival is Ovid, an unneutered, white and black stray cat from Vineyard Haven. He is approximately one year old and is still being assessed but seems, so far, to be a lovely cat. Please stop by if you are looking for a new feline companion, or just to visit. They all love and need the attention.

Beauty, our lovely seven-year-old frosted tip long-haired female cat has unfortunately been left at the altar by her gentleman caller. She is still looking for her Prince (or Princess) Charming to come for her. Come meet her to see if she could be your new companion, she’s a real doll.

Shelter hours are Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Thursdays and Fridays, 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and Saturdays, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The shelter is closed Sunday and Monday. The telephone number is 508-627-8662.
