We have only happy tails to tell this week at the animal shelter. The universe has lined up for Hana, our Italian Greyhound. A colleague of Hanna’s owner was doing some carpentry at the shelter and saw Hanna sleeping in the lobby. After asking a few question about her, it was determined that it was in fact the dog he had been looking for. You see, he wanted to help Hanna’s owner and give her a home but lost track of her and figured she had already been placed. After introducing Hanna to his family, she went home with them and now is doing very well in her new forever home.

Fia, the three-and-a-half-year-old Nordic-bred girl that needed a new home has been placed before she even had to come into the shelter That’s our favorite kind of adoption. Mitzi didn’t stay long. She was scooped up right away by a lovely lady. We are so glad to tell you that kittens Laverne and Shirley will be romping around together in their new home and they really helped to bring Skipper, the depressed cat, around before they left. He is no longer hiding under the cages, he is resting comfortably in a bed on top of the cages. So, Skipper’s new owner will be happy to hear that.

The shelter exploded with new arrivals this week. The adoption room is now home to not one, not two, not three, but four ragdoll cats. They are all beautiful boys and ready for your couch. Also here is Nike, an orange and white neutered male with the greenest eyes.

A big thank you goes out to Lily Davis and Charlotte Freeman. They both raised money by babysitting and selling handmade jewelry, and donated it to the shelter. The staff and volunteers can’t thank you enough for your generous gesture.

Stay tuned for more tails from the shelter. Have a great week.
