Philip Mangano will be guest speaker at Grace Episcopal Church in Vineyard Haven on Sunday, July 5. Mr. Mangano is currently the president and CEO of the Boston-based American Round Table to Abolish Homelessness. He also served as executive director of the White House Interagency Council on Homelessness.

Mr. Mangano will address the congregation at both the 8 and 10 a.m. worship services. He will also offer remarks and conversation on Monday, July 6, at 7 p.m. on the porch at the Grace Church Rectory.

Known as “the Homelessness Czar” Mr. Mangano is recognized for applying business principles and practices to the social problem of homelessness, and also involving faith-based groups in these efforts. Throughout a career spanning more than 30 years he has worked with numerous agencies and organizations, seeking innovative solutions for the problem of homelessness. His acclaimed “Housing First” initiative emphasizes the need to place people in permanent homes, rather than short-term emergency shelter.
