Island experts will gather Saturday for a presentation and panel discussion about post-traumatic stress disorder.

The event is part of the MV Veterans Support series.

Dr. Dominic Maxwell, the medical director at Martha’s Vineyard Community Services Island Counseling Center, will give a presentation on post-traumatic stress disorder, including signs, symptoms and treatment available. A panel of expert speakers will be on hand for an interactive discussion. Panelists will be Tom Bennett, the associate executive and senior clinical advisor at Martha’s Vineyard Community Services, Jo Ann Murphy, director of veterans services for Dukes County, and Cheryl Belisle, public contact advocate for the Providence VA Regional Office.

The discussion takes place Saturday, Oct. 18, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School library. Lunch will be provided. For more information contact Julie Meader at 508-693-7900, extension 267.
