MVYouth, a new community fund established this summer to benefit children, teens and young adults on Martha’s Vineyard, will host an information session about its education scholarship program on Thursday, Oct. 16, from 7 to 8 p.m. at the West Tisbury library.

The advisory board of MVYouth plans to select two or more students to support through four years of college tuition expenses and fees. Applicants must be year-round residents of the Vineyard. Financial support will be based on merit and need and will cover a portion of tuition expenses and fees. The deadline for scholarship applications is Feb. 1, 2015.

In addition to its scholarship program, MVYouth will also offer expansion grants to support Island organizations that enrich the lives of young people on Martha’s Vineyard through quality programs and services. Grants will support capital investments and program expansions, but generally not be awarded to sustain operating budgets. The deadline for expansion grant applications is Nov. 15.
