The following cases were heard in Edgartown district court.

August 18

Reinaldo B. Barbosa, 34, of Edgartown, arraigned on August 16 charges in Oak Bluffs of armed burglary and violating an abuse prevention order. According to a police report filed in court, he allegedly forced his way into a residence and armed himself with a kitchen knife. Bail was set at $2,500 and a pretrial hearing was scheduled for Sept. 4.

Gajraj S. Diggi, 39, of Vineyard Haven, arraigned on August 15 charges in West Tisbury of drunken driving, child endangerment while OUI and a marked lanes violation. A pretrial hearing was scheduled for Sept. 19.

Amber B. Dixon, 32, of Los Angeles, Calif., arraigned on August 15 charges in Vineyard Haven of drunken driving, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and two counts of leaving the scene of property damage. A pretrial hearing was scheduled for Oct. 24.

Robert E. Stafursky, 29, of Lowell, arraigned on an August 16 charge in Oak Bluffs of assault. Bail was set at $1,000 and a pretrial hearing was scheduled for Sept. 19.

Heidi F. Vanderhoop, 33, of Aquinnah, arraigned on an August 16 charge in Edgartown of violating a harassment prevention order. A pretrial hearing was scheduled for Sept. 18.

August 21

Michael G. Bowler, 44, of Holyoke, arraigned on August 19 charges in Oak Bluffs of possession of a class B drug (cocaine), OUI drugs, second offense, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and leaving the scene of property damage. Bail was set at $750 and a pretrial hearing was scheduled for Sept. 22.

Jessica Buhler, 25, of Vineyard Haven, arraigned on August 21 charges in Vineyard Haven of drunken driving, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, possessing an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle and a marked lanes violation. A pretrial hearing was scheduled for Sept. 22.

Stowe B. Counsell, 19, of Oak Bluffs, arraigned on August 18 charges in Oak Bluffs of drunken driving, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, littering trash from a motor vehicle, speeding in violation of special regulation, license not in possession and person under 21 possessing liquor. A pretrial hearing was scheduled for Sept. 18.

Troy A. Maciel, 43, of Vineyard Haven, pleaded guilty on a July 14 charge in West Tisbury of violating an abuse prevention order, placed on probation for one year. Ordered to complete a batterers program, pay a $350 batterers program fee, a $25 batterers fee and a $45 victim/witness assessment fee. Charges of larceny less than $250 and breaking and entering for a misdemeanor were dismissed upon request of the commonwealth.

John C. Richardson, 60, of Washington, D.C., arraigned on an August 19 charge in Vineyard Haven of assault and battery. A pretrial hearing was scheduled for Sept. 22.

Sabrena S. Robinson, 19, of West Tisbury, arraigned on August 20 charges in West Tisbury of assault and battery and threat to commit a crime. A pretrial hearing was scheduled for Sept. 22.

Joshua L. Sperling, 32, of Chilmark, admitted to sufficient facts on a July 18 charge in Aquinnah of negligent operation of a motor vehicle, continued without finding for six months. Ordered to pay a $250 head injury assessment fee, a $50 victim/witness assessment fee and a $50 monthly probation services fee. Charges of failure to stop for police and assault with a dangerous weapon (motor vehicle) were dismissed upon request of the commonwealth. Found not responsible on a charge of speeding.

Aja O. Stamp, 23, of Vineyard Haven, admitted to sufficient facts on a July 20 charge in Oak Bluffs of disorderly conduct, continued without finding for six months. Ordered to pay a $50 victim/witness assessment fee and a $50 monthly probation services fee. Charges of assault and battery on a police officer and resisting arrest were dismissed upon request of the commonwealth.

Nicholas Viaggio, 30, of Oak Bluffs, admitted to sufficient facts on July 15 charges in Oak Bluffs of trespassing and threat to commit a crime, continued without a finding for one year and ordered to pay $200 in fees. A charge of intimidating a witness/juror/police/court official will be dismissed if eight hours of community service are completed within one year.

Benjamin S. Webster, 22, of Oak Bluffs, admitted to sufficient facts on a Feb. 18 charge in Oak Bluffs of assault and battery, continued without a finding concurrent with other charges. Ordered to pay a $50 victim/witness assessment fee. In a separate case, a March 2013 charge in Oak Bluffs of possessing child pornography was dismissed upon request of the commonwealth.

Ryan Willoughby, 24, of Oak Bluffs, admitted to sufficient facts on a May 15 charge in Vineyard Haven of leaving the scene of property damage, continued without finding for six months. Ordered to pay $50 victim/witness assessment fee with restitution to be determined at a hearing on Sept. 26. Found responsible on charges of unregistered motor vehicle and a marked lanes violation.

August 22

Susana Branco, 33, of Vineyard Haven, had a July 6 charge in Oak Bluffs of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (tequila bottle) dismissed upon request of the commonwealth for failure of the alleged victim to cooperate.

Stephen S. Eldredge, 57, of Florence, admitted to sufficient facts on an August 6 charge in Vineyard Haven of drunken driving, continued without finding for one year. Ordered to pay $600 in fees, a $65 probation services fee, to lose license for 45 days and to complete a 24-day driver alcohol education program. Found not responsible on a marked lanes violation and a charge of negligent operation of a motor vehicle was dismissed upon request of the commonwealth.

Renee E. Habekost, 46, of Edgartown, placed on pretrial probation for three months on June 19 charges in Edgartown of domestic assault and battery and breaking and entering for a misdemeanor.

James F. Haddon, 60, of New York, N.Y., arraigned on August 22 charges in Oak Bluffs of drunken driving, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, failure to stop/yield and a marked lanes violation. A pretrial hearing was scheduled for Sept. 26.

Treniece L. Harris, 45, of Randolph, admitted to sufficient facts on an August 9 charge in Vineyard Haven of drunken driving, continued without finding for one year. Ordered to pay $600 in fees, a $65 monthly probation services fee, to lose license for 45 days and to complete a 24-day driver alcohol education program. A charge of negligent operation of a motor vehicle was dismissed upon request of the commonwealth.

Jared C. Jernegan, 33, of Edgartown, arraigned on August 22 charges in Oak Bluffs of drunken driving, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, marked lanes violation, obstruction of an emergency vehicle and no inspection/sticker. A pretrial hearing was scheduled for Sept. 22.

James A. Macello, 51, of Dorchester, admitted to sufficient facts on July 24 charges in Oak Bluffs of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest, continued without finding for six months and ordered to pay a $50 victim/witness assessment fee. A charge of assault and battery was dismissed upon request of the commonwealth.

August 25

Daniel C. Wilson, 38, of Edgartown, arraigned on an August 22 charge in Vineyard Haven of indecent assault and battery on a person 14 or older. According to a police report filed in court, the charge stems from allegations that Mr. Wilson sexually assaulted a women and spent the night at her house after giving her a ride home from a bar. Bail was set at $5,000 and a pretrial hearing was scheduled for Sept. 12.

Mohammed Al-Khatib, 21, of Quincy, found guilty on a July 14 charge in Oak Bluffs of disorderly conduct, ordered to pay $100 fine/assessment fee. A charge of assault and battery was dismissed upon request of the commonwealth.

Nadeem H. Al-Khatib, 24, of Quincy, found responsible on a July 14 charge in Oak Bluffs of disorderly conduct, ordered to pay $100 fine/assessment fee.

Riad A. Al-Khatib, 22, of Quincy, pleaded guilty on a July 14 charge in Oak Bluffs of disorderly conduct, ordered to pay $100 fine/assessment fee. A charge of assault and battery was dismissed upon request of the commonwealth.

George R. Fauteux, 35, of Edgartown, arraigned on a July 15 charge in Edgartown of assault and battery. A pretrial hearing was scheduled for Sept. 22.

April L. Childress, 32, of Vail, Colo., arraigned on August 23 charges in Vineyard Haven of drunken driving and negligent operation of a motor vehicle. A pretrial hearing was scheduled for Sept. 2.

Italo K. Mamedes, 22, of Oak Bluffs, arraigned on August 23 charges in Oak Bluffs of assault and battery, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. A pretrial hearing was scheduled for Oct. 2.

William D. Grant, 34, of Falmouth, will have an August 9 charge in Edgartown of disorderly conduct dismissed if $200 in court costs are paid forthwith.

Dylan S. Kenney, 32, of West Tisbury, arraigned on July 6 charges in West Tisbury of drunken driving, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and a marked lanes violation. A pretrial hearing was scheduled for Sept. 5.

David S. Poggi Jr., 69, of Edgartown, arraigned on July 20 charges in Edgartown of malicious destruction of property more than $250 and two counts of assault and battery. According to a police report filed in court, the charges stem from an altercation that occurred in a private parking lot. Mr. Poggi also allegedly damaged an automobile by letting air out of two tires. A pretrial hearing was scheduled for Sept. 15.

Casey S. Smith, 24, of Vineyard Haven, arraigned on an August 23 charge in Edgartown of assault with a dangerous weapon (crowbar). A pretrial hearing was scheduled for Sept. 25.

Corey S. Smith, 21, of Edgartown, arraigned on an August 23 charge in Edgartown of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (rocks). A pretrial hearing was scheduled for Sept. 25.
