Are you ready for Tribal Baroque? Well, even if you’re not ready, or just confused, it’s coming and you are going to want to be there.

The show is on Sunday, August 31, at 6 p.m. at Union Chapel in Oak Bluffs. There is also a post party at the A Gallery on Uncas avenue.

Now that the place and time has been stated, perhaps a description is warranted. Tribal Baroque is violin. It’s singing. It’s dancing. It’s foot percussion. It’s something called “prayforming,”which is a direct relative of performing, but is the full embodiment of the form, from instrument to vocal to the body. Get ready for an all-in evening that has to be seen to be believed.

Tribal Baroque is made up of Thoth and Lila'Angelique. Vineyard seasonal resident Sarah Kernochan made an Oscar-winning documentary about Thoth in 2002. Side note: Ms. Kernochan was one of the screenwriters for 9 1/2 weeks. Check out YouTube to see the film and what exactly is coming to Union Chapel.
