MV Soul Concepts hosts the 2nd annual Martha’s Vineyard Summer Madness Music Conference and Festival August 8 to 10, with most events happening at Dreamland in Oak Bluffs. This year’s theme, Ladies First, pays homage to the women of black music and entertainment.

The weekend-long music celebration kicks off Friday night with a classic hip-hop party with the Tru School Hip Hop Concert, featuring a performance from artist and activist MC Lyte and special guest DJ Monie Love. R&B songstress Amel Larrieux headlines Saturday night’s showcase, featuring a set by DJ Beverly Bond, founder of Black Girls Rock. Award-winning actress and jazz vocalist Suzzanne Douglas will keep the party going during Sunday morning’s jazz brunch.

The MV Summer Madness roster continues with back-to-back days of events featuring Love and Hip Hop Atlanta star Deb Antney; Tameka (Tiny) Harris of VH1’s T.I. and Tiny: The Family Hustle; talent manager Sonja Norwood (Brandy and Ray J); former Flava Unit executive Dedra Tate; and Atlantic Records senior vice president of Brand Partnerships Joi Pitts, among others. The weekend culminates with an exclusive performance Sunday night by Lauryn Hill.
