The following cases were heard in Edgartown district court.

June 16

Colleen F. Carreiro, 20, of Buzzards Bay, will have a June 15 charge in Edgartown of negligent operation of a motor vehicle dismissed if 12 hours of community service are completed by July 16. Charges of disorderly conduct, failure to stop for police and speeding were dismissed upon request of the commonwealth. According to a police report filed in court, Ms. Carreiro allegedly led police on a chase through Edgartown while driving a moped, cut off a car and screamed at police.

Jessica R. Elsasser, 30, of Vineyard Haven, was arraigned on June 14 charges in Edgartown of drunken driving, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, a miscellaneous motor vehicle equipment violation (no working tail lights) and a marked lanes violation. A pretrial hearing was scheduled for July 7.

June 19

Michael D. Francis, 59, of Vineyard Haven, was arraigned on a May 6 charge in Edgartown of leaving the scene of property damage. According to a police report filed in court, Mr. Francis allegedly hit a 1995 Toyota Tacoma parked on Morse Street and North Water Street and kept driving. A pretrial hearing was scheduled for July 11.

Lisa Huff, 49, of Oak Bluffs, had a May 6 charge in Oak Bluffs of domestic assault and battery dismissed upon request of the commonwealth at the request of the victim.

Inku Sim, 78, of Scotia, N.Y., was arraigned on May 28 charges in Vineyard Haven of drunken driving, second offense, and negligent operation of a motor vehicle. According to a police report filed in court, Mr. Sim allegedly drove a car into the Steamship Authority parking lot on Water Street, parked and stumbled out of the motor vehicle, causing him to fall on the ground and get a nose bleed. A pretrial hearing was scheduled for July 7.

Robert C. Sharps 2nd, 38, of Newport, R.I., admitted to sufficient facts on Jan. 26 charges in Edgartown of assault and battery, trespassing, disorderly conduct and attempt to commit a crime, continued without finding for two years. Ordered to successfully complete a mental health evaluation and a drug abuse evaluation/treatment program, to remain drug free with screens and to take all medications as prescribed by current physician. Also ordered to stay away from the alleged victim and the Harbor View Hotel and pay $200 in victim/witness assessment fees. A $65 monthly probation services fee was waived while defendant pays fee in Dedham until Sept. 23. According to a police report filed in court, the charges stem from an incident that occurred at the Harbor View Hotel in which Mr. Sharps allegedly trespassed into a wine storage area in the basement of the hotel, became violent with hotel staff and had a pipe consistent with use of methamphetamine and cocaine in his possession.

Lawrence K. Vance, 52, of Edgartown, was arraigned on a June 18 charge in Edgartown of operating a motor vehicle with license suspended for drunken driving. A pretrial hearing was scheduled for July 31.

June 20

Renee E. Habekost, 46, of Edgartown, was arraigned on June 19 charges in Edgartown of domestic assault and battery and breaking and entering for a misdemeanor. A pretrial hearing was scheduled for July 31.

William P. Kelly, 32, of Edgartown was arraigned on June 20 charges in Edgartown of drunken driving, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, unregistered motor vehicle, uninsured motor vehicle, number plate violation to conceal identity and a marked lanes violation. A pretrial hearing was scheduled for July 21.

William H. Tholen 3rd, 27, of West Tisbury, was arraigned on June 20 charges in Oak Bluffs of drunken driving, possessing an open container of alcohol (brandy) in a motor vehicle, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and a marked lanes violation. A pretrial hearing was scheduled for June 27.
