The following cases were heard in Edgartown District Court.

May 19

Troy A. Maciel, 42, of Vineyard Haven, was arraigned on May 19 charges in West Tisbury of possessing a class B drug (hydrocodone) and violating an abuse prevention order. Bail was set at $5,000 and a June 11 pretrial hearing was scheduled.

Daniel C. Moraga, 32, of Falmouth, was arraigned on May 18 charges in Edgartown of drunken driving, speeding and a marked lanes violation. A pretrial hearing was scheduled for June 16. .

Patricia Spring, 65, of Vineyard Haven, was arraigned on May 16 charges in Vineyard Haven of drunken driving and failure to stop/yield. A pretrial hearing was scheduled for June 26.

May 22

Thomas A. Buckley, 23, of Vineyard Haven, admitted to sufficient facts on a Nov. 26 charge in Oak Bluffs of operating a motor vehicle with license suspended, amended from operating a motor vehicle with license suspended for OUI, continued without a finding for six months. Ordered to pay $50 victim/witness assessment fee, refrain from driving unless with valid license, and pay $50 monthly probation services fee.

John M. Frederick, 45, of Edgartown, was arraigned on an August 2013 charge in Oak Bluffs of assault and battery. According to a police report filed in court, he allegedly punched a person outside of the Ritz on Circuit Avenue. A pretrial hearing was scheduled for June 27.

Elias A. Ingraham, 34, of Vineyard Haven, was arraigned on May 20 charges in Oak Bluffs of drunken driving, third offense, malicious destruction of property over $250, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and a marked lanes violation. According to a police report filed in court, Mr. Ingraham, while under arrest and handcuffed, allegedly kicked out the rear window of a state police cruiser. Bail was set at $2,000 and a June 6 pretrial hearing was scheduled.

May 23

David M. Darcy, 51, of Vineyard Haven, was arraigned on May 22 charges in Oak Bluffs of drunken driving, third offense, negligent operation of motor vehicle, license not in possession and a state highway traffic violation. A pretrial hearing was scheduled for June 27.

Robert G. Prenda, Jr., 28, of New Bedford, pleaded guilty on March 2013 charges in Vineyard Haven of receiving stolen property over $250, placed on probation for one year. Ordered not to contact the victim, to remain drug and alcohol free with screens, to seek treatment as mandated by probation, pay $90 victim/witness assessment fee and restitution to be determined. According to a police report filed in court, Mr. Prenda was arrested in Vineyard Haven after getting off the Steamship Authority ferry. Police searched his person and found jewelry he allegedly stole from his landlord.

Richard D. Roy, 50, of Vineyard Haven, pleaded guilty on a December 2013 charge in Chilmark of assault and battery, placed on probation for six months. Ordered to pay $50 monthly probation services fee, $50 victim/witness assessment fee and to complete 24 hours of community service. According to a police report filed in court, Mr. Roy was involved in a confrontation while hunting. He allegedly shoved the victim in the back.

Natasha B. Smith, 31, of Edgartown, had April 20 charges in Edgartown of assault and battery and reckless endangerment of a child dismissed upon request of the commonwealth with failure of alleged victim to cooperate.
