The following cases were heard in Edgartown district court.

May 2

Brian K. Hairston, 54, of West Tisbury, arraigned on an April 28 charge in Oak Bluffs of violating an abuse prevention order. Pretrial hearing scheduled for June 16.

Kevin J. Leaf Jr., 30, of Vineyard Haven, arraigned on April 23 charges in Oak Bluffs of assault and battery and intimidating a witness/juror/police/court official. Pretrial hearing scheduled for June 5.

May 5

Brian M. Cardoso, 21, of Boston, admitted to sufficient facts on a May 4 charge in Oak Bluffs of drunken driving, continued without a finding for one year. Ordered to pay $600 in fees and a $65 monthly probation services fee, to complete a 24-day driver alcohol education program, to lose license for 45 days and ordered to counseling for six months or until professionally discharged.

Matthew Engstrume, 21, of Edgartown, found guilty on September 2013 charges in Edgartown of breaking and entering a building in the nighttime for a felony and larceny from building. Ordered to six months in a house of correction with 90 days to serve, balance suspended two years and placed on probation for two years. Ordered to stay away from and not to contact the alleged victims, to complete counseling and remain drug and alcohol free for two years. Must pay $90 victim/witness assessment fee, $1,534 in restitution and a $65 monthly probation services fee for one year beginning Dec. 1.

Troy A. Maciel, 42, of Vineyard Haven, arraigned on May 3 charges in Oak Bluffs of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (concrete), assault and battery, violating an abuse prevention order, trespassing, disturbing the peace and resisting arrest. According to a police report filed in court, the charges stem from a fight in which Mr. Maciel allegedly shoved the victim and slammed her head into concrete. Bail was set at $500 and pretrial hearing scheduled for May 22.

Steven L. Mccullough, 57, of Oak Bluffs, arraigned on two counts of vandalizing property on May 4 in Oak Bluffs. Pretrial hearing scheduled for May 22.

Michael D. Tebeau, 32, of Oak Bluffs, arraigned on May 3 charges in Vineyard Haven of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. Pretrial hearing was scheduled for May 19.

May 8

Alexandre R. Alves, 26, of Vineyard Haven, arraigned on May 6 charges in Vineyard Haven of drunken driving, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, operating a motor vehicle with license suspended and speeding in violation of special regulation. Pretrial hearing scheduled for June 5.

Melissa Clay, 39, of West Tisbury, arraigned on May 6 charges in Oak Bluffs of drunken driving, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, speeding in violation of special regulation and a marked lanes violation. Pretrial hearing scheduled for June 27.

Lisa Huff, 49, of Oak Bluffs, arraigned on a May 6 charge in Oak Bluffs of assault and battery. Pretrial hearing was scheduled for June 19.

Leonardo Miranda, 23, of Edgartown, arraigned on a May 1 charge in Oak Bluffs of operating a motor vehicle with license suspended for OUI. Pretrial hearing was scheduled for June 5.

Marciano N. Martins, 30, of Silver Spring, Md., admitted to sufficient facts on an October 2013 charge in Vineyard Haven of drunken driving, continued without finding for one year. Ordered to pay $600 in fees and a $65 monthly probation services fee for one year, to complete a 24-day driver alcohol education program and to lose license for 45 days. Charges of negligent operation of a motor vehicle and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle were dismissed upon request of the commonwealth, and found not responsible on a marked lanes violation.

Stephen W. Moore, 54, of Vineyard Haven, arraigned on May 7 charges in Vineyard Haven of assault with a dangerous weapon (a hammer), assault and battery, assault and battery on a person 60 or older or disabled, breaking and entering during daytime for a felony, person in fear, and landlord attempting to regain the premises by force. According to a police report filed in court, Mr. Moore allegedly pushed the victim, his tenant, on the shoulder, yelled at the victim while raising a hammer in his hand and threw the victim’s bicycle on the front lawn. Pretrial hearing scheduled for June 2.

Flavio N. Piacheski, 36, of Vineyard Haven, admitted to sufficient facts on a September 2013 charge in Vineyard Haven of drunken driving, continued without finding for one year. Ordered to pay $600 in fees and a $65 monthly probation services fee, to complete a 24-day driver alcohol education program and to lose license for 45 days. Found responsible on speeding in violation of special regulation, and a charge of unlicensed operation of motor vehicle will be dismissed if $100 in court costs are paid by June 11. A charge of negligent operation of a motor vehicle was dismissed upon request of the commonwealth.

May 9

Caitlyn T. Colley, 21, of Vineyard Haven, found responsible on March 19 charges in Vineyard Haven of possessing an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle and speeding in violation of special regulation, ordered to pay a $500 fine/assessment. Found not responsible on a charge of no inspection sticker. A charge of operating a motor vehicle with license suspended was dismissed upon request of the commonwealth.

Adam H. Evans, 28, of Oak Bluffs, placed on pretrial probation for one year and ordered to remain in counseling on a Feb. 10 charge in Oak Bluffs of assault and battery.

Alekzandria S. Gibson, 26, of Vineyard Haven, found guilty on an October 2013 charge in Vineyard Haven of negligent operation of a motor vehicle, placed on probation for one year. Ordered to pay $1,367.72 in restitution, a $250 head injury assessment fee and a $50 victim/witness assessment fee. Admitted to sufficient facts on a charge of uninsured motor vehicle, continued without finding for one year and ordered to pay a $50 victim/witness assessment fee. Charges of operating under the influence of drugs (prescription drugs) and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle were dismissed upon request of the commonwealth. Found not responsible on a marked lanes violation.

Kayla R. Mastromonaco, 26, of West Tisbury, admitted to sufficient facts on an April 23 charge in Vineyard Haven of drunken driving, continued without finding for one year. Ordered to pay $350 in fees and a $65 monthly probation services fee, to complete a 24-day driver alcohol education program and to lose license for 45 days. Found responsible on a charge of possessing an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle, ordered to pay $500 civil assessment fee. Found not responsible for charges of speeding in violation of special regulation and a marked lanes violation.

Alex M. Mayhew, 26, of Chilmark, arraigned on May 9 charges in Oak Bluffs of drunken driving, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, marked lanes violation and speeding. Pretrial hearing set for June 5.

Daniel B. Nelson, 45, of Edgartown, had an April 14 charge in Edgartown of violating an abuse prevention order dismissed upon request of the commonwealth and at the victim’s request.

Joseph E. Peters, 35, of Oak Bluffs, arraigned on May 8 charges in Oak Bluffs of violating an abuse prevention order and threatening to commit a crime. According to a police report filed in court, Mr. Peters allegedly threatened to slit a person’s throat. Pretrial hearing set for June 13.

Jeffrey A. Sylvia, 25, of Vineyard Haven, found guilty on a November 2013 charge in Edgartown of possessing a class A drug (heroin). Ordered to 30 days in a house of correction, deemed served, and to pay a $1,000 assessment fee by Aug. 20.

Nicholas Viaggio, 29, of Oak Bluffs, admitted to sufficient facts on August 2013 charges in Oak Bluffs of possessing to distribute a class B drug (oxycodone) and resisting arrest, continued without finding for one year. Ordered to pay a $90 victim/witness fee and a $65 monthly probation services fee, and to forfeit $6,170. A charge of receiving stolen property more than $250 to be dismissed upon request of the commonwealth upon transfer of $5,000 of $6,170 to the victim. In a separate case, Oak Bluffs charges of larceny over $250, forgery of a check and uttering a false check were dismissed upon request of the commonwealth with accord and satisfaction.

May 12

Simone R. Dasilva, 33, of Vineyard Haven, found guilty on Feb. 9 charges in Vineyard Haven of drunken driving and negligent operation of a motor vehicle, ordered to serve 30 days in a house of correction, suspended two years and placed on probation for two years. Ordered to complete a 24-day driver alcohol education program and to lose license for 45 days. A charge of child endangerment while operating under the influence was dismissed upon request of the commonwealth, and found not responsible on a marked lanes violation. According to a police report filed in court, the charges came from Ms. Dasilva allegedly swerved while driving her car on Beach Road. She allegedly drove her car up a snow bank and had two children as passengers.

Abraham T. Rendon, 25, of Edgartown, arraigned on May 11 charges in Oak Bluffs of assault, threat to commit a crime and disorderly conduct. Bail set at $500 and pretrial hearing scheduled for June 5.

David J. Silvia, 42, of Edgartown, arraigned on May 10 charges in Oak Bluffs of disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and threat to commit a crime. Pretrial hearing scheduled for July 11.

Vitor J. Silva, 25, of Edgartown, arraigned on May 12 charges in Oak Bluffs of assault and battery and intimidating a witness/juror/police/court official. A pretrial hearing was scheduled for June 5. According to a police report filed in court, Mr. Silva allegedly pushed a person and took her mobile phone away when she tried to call 911.
