A Revere man was indicted Monday on a drug trafficking charge.

A Dukes County grand jury handed down an indictment for Kleyck Correa, 35, on a charge of trafficking cocaine between 18 grams and 36 grams.

Mr. Correa was arrested August 23 by members of the Martha’s Vineyard Drug Task Force after he walked off a Steamship Authority ferry in Vineyard Haven. According to a police report, a confidential source told police Mr. Correa, also known as Mike Kevin, was coming to the Island with a quantity of cocaine.

Police said Mr. Correa gave consent to a search of his backpack, and police allegedly found 26.5 grams of a white powdery substance wrapped in plastic and tin foil and hidden inside a sneaker.

According to the police report, the street value of the cocaine was about $2,600.
