The following cases were heard in Edgartown district court:

March 10

John D. Cecilio, 56, of Vineyard Haven, was arraigned on March 9 charges in Vineyard Haven of drunken driving, second offense, marked lanes violation, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and unregistered motor vehicle. Bail was set at $500 surety and a pretrial hearing scheduled for April 11.

Scott A. Chase, 23, of Vineyard Haven, was arraigned on March 8 charges in Oak Bluffs of drunken driving, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and failure to stop/yield. A pretrial hearing was scheduled for April 11.

Drew W. Moreis, 21, of Vineyard Haven, was arraigned on July 2013 charges in Edgartown of rape of a child with force and four counts of statutory rape of a child. According to a police report filed in court, he allegedly raped a 14-year-old girl at a house party in November. Bail was set at $5,000 and a pretrial hearing scheduled for April 4.

March 14

William D. Bassett, 67, of Edgartown, admitted to sufficient facts on July 4 charges in Edgartown of drunken driving, second offense and negligent operation of a motor vehicle. Continued without a finding for one year, ordered to complete a 24-day driver alcohol education program and to lose license for 45 days. Ordered to pay $600 in fees and a $65 monthly probation services fee. According to a police report filed at court, the charges stem from a car accident near Your Market in Edgartown.

Brian D. McBride, 52, of West Tisbury, was arraigned on March 12 charges in West Tisbury of drunken driving, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and marked lanes violation. A pretrial hearing was scheduled for April 11.
