The following cases were heard in Edgartown district court.

Feb. 6

Samuel G. Arruda, 29, of West Tisbury, was arraigned on Feb. 4 charges in West Tisbury of attempted murder and domestic assault and battery. According to a police report filed in court, he allegedly grabbed the alleged victim by the neck, spit on her and choked her. Bail was set at $1,000 surety and he was ordered not to abuse or contact the alleged victim. A pretrial hearing was scheduled for Feb. 28.

Christopher G. Magee, 40, of Edgartown, was arraigned on a Jan. 8 charge of possession with intent to distribute a Class A drug. A pretrial hearing was scheduled for March 28.

Sean M. Geddis, 21, of Vineyard Haven, pleaded guilty on a Oct. 10 charge in Oak Bluffs of possession of a class B drug (Percocet), amended from possession with intent to distribute, placed on probation for 18 months. Ordered to pay a $50 victim/witness assessment fee and remain drug-free with screens. A charge of conspiracy to violate drug law was dismissed upon request of the commonwealth.

Jose F. Filho, 46, of Vineyard Haven, pleaded guilty to an Oct. 16 charge of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, subsequent offense. Sentenced to 60 days in a house of correction, sentenced suspended and placed on probation for one year. Ordered to pay a $50 victim/witness assessment fee. A charge of unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle was dismissed upon request of the commonwealth and found responsible on a charge of unregistered motor vehicle, ordered to pay a $100 fine.

Travis S. Macomber, 27, of Edgartown, was arraigned on Feb. 4 charges in Edgartown of operating under the influence of drugs (Suboxone, Xanax), second offense negligent operation of a motor vehicle, possessing a class B drug (Suboxone) and possessing a class E drug (Xanax). A pretrial hearing was scheduled for March 7.

Melissa Neuner, 41, of Oak Bluffs, was arraigned on a Feb. 5 charge in Edgartown of violating an abuse prevention order. A pretrial hearing was continued to March 7.

Robert J. Sullivan, 51, of Edgartown, was arraigned on a Feb. 4 charge in Edgartown of drunken driving and operating a motor vehicle with registration suspended. A pretrial hearing was scheduled for Feb. 20.

Jesse C. Ward, 34, of Oak Bluffs, pleaded guilty to a Nov. 26 charge of drunken driving, second offense, sentenced to 90 days in a house of corrections, sentence suspended. Placed on probation for two years and ordered to complete a 14-day inpatient program and pay $350 in fees. A charge of negligent operation of a motor vehicle was dismissed upon request of the commonwealth.

Feb. 7

Jamie Lynn Murphy, 27, of Edgartown, had Dec. 28 charges of assault and battery and intimidation of a witness/juror/police/court official dismissed without prejudice upon request of the commonwealth.

James E. Joyce, 56, of Edgartown, was found not guilty in a bench trial on an August 3 charge in Edgartown of negligent operation of a motor vehicle.

Feb. 10

Jack Q. Fielding, 19, of West Tisbury, was arraigned on Feb. 9 charges in Oak Bluffs of drunken driving, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and speeding in violation of special regulations. A pretrial hearing was scheduled for March 7.

Feb. 11

Robert D. Brown, 23, of Chilmark, pleaded guilty to a Sept. 14 charge in Oak Bluffs of negligent operation of a motor vehicle, ordered to pay $550 in fees. A charge of drunken driving was dismissed upon request of the commonwealth and found not responsible on a marked lanes violation.

Dakota Delviento, 20, of Oak Bluffs, was arraigned on Feb. 10 charges in Oak Bluffs of domestic assault and battery and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (a water bottle). A pretrial hearing was scheduled for March 6.

Simone Rodrigues Dasilva, 32, of Vineyard Haven, was arraigned on Feb. 9 charges in Vineyard Haven of drunken driving, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, marked lanes violation and child endangerment while operating under the influence. According to the police report filed in court, she allegedly had two children in the car when she was arrested. A pretrial hearing was scheduled for March 6.

Feb. 14

Jason Hershey, 34, of Edgartown, was arraigned on Jan. 1 charges in Edgartown of drunken driving and negligent operation of a motor vehicle. A pretrial hearing was scheduled for March 21.

Zachary Niemi, 28, of Oak Bluffs, pleaded guilty to a Jan. 17 charge in Oak Bluffs of trespassing, placed on probation for six months. Ordered to pay a $50 victim/witness assessment fee and a $50 monthly probation services fee, to remain alcohol-free with screens and to stay away from a Sea Glen avenue home. A charge of breaking and entering for a misdemeanor was dismissed upon request of the commonwealth.

Feb. 18

Arthur Oliver, 43, of Lenox, admitted to sufficient facts on an August 2012 charge in Aquinnah of drunken driving, continued without a finding for one year. Ordered to pay $350 in fees and a $65 monthly probation services fee, to complete a 24-day driver alcohol education program and to lose license for 45 days. A charge of negligent operation of a motor vehicle was dismissed upon request of the commonwealth and found not responsible on charges of speeding in violation of special regulation and an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle.
