Dukes County received notice from the federal government’s Emergency Food and Shelter Program that funds totaling $2,744 will be distributed among agencies in the county that provide emergency food and shelter to low income households.

To be eligible for consideration for funding, agencies must be nonprofit with a 501c3 rating, have an accounting system and conduct an annual audit, practice nondiscrimination and have a volunteer board of directors.

Agencies interested in applying for Emergency Food and Shelter Program funds should contact Catherine Driscoll at Cape Cod Council of Churches, 508-432-1312. The deadline for applications is Feb. 21.
