The First Congregational Church of West Tisbury is renovating the historic sanctuary and in preparation for the work the pews were removed and will be stored at the Grange Hall. Rick Convery and his crew began work on Jan. 2, refinishing the floor, and repainting the walls, ceiling and trim.

During the renovation the church will hold services at the regular time of 10 a.m. in the Agricultural Hall. The work is anticipated to take two months.

Community suppers will continue to be held on Wednesday nights, beginning at 5:30 p.m., in the parish hall of the church.
