The following cases were heard in Edgartown district court:

July 1

Ty L. Rossi, 35, of Edgartown, will not be prosecuted on an April 30 charge in West Tisbury of drunken driving, second offense, and found not responsible on charges of marked lanes violation and no inspection/sticker. Pleaded guilty to a charge of negligent operation of a motor vehicle, ordered to pay a $250 head injury fee, a $50 victim/witness assessment fee and a $50 monthly probation services fee, placed on probation for two years, ordered to complete 40 hours of community service and not to reinstate license for 18 months.

July 8

Elisha A. Boyd, 26, of West Tisbury, was arraigned on July 5 charges in West Tisbury of resisting arrest and two counts of assault and battery. A pretrial hearing was scheduled for August 1.

Derek K. Dennison, 27, of Holliston, was arraigned on July 6 charges in Edgartown of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (a beer bottle) and disorderly conduct. A pretrial hearing was scheduled for July 6.

Carmel Gilbert, 54, of Oak Bluffs, had a Nov. 25 charge in Edgartown of drunken driving, second offense dismissed upon request of the commonwealth. Found guilty on a charge of negligent operation of a motor vehicle, placed on probation for one year, ordered to pay $300 in fees and a $50 monthly probation fee, to complete 32 hours of community service, and not to reinstate license prior to July 1, 2014. Found not responsible on a charge of marked lanes violation.

Alice G. Seaton, 65, of Vineyard Haven, was arraigned on a July 7 charge in Vineyard Haven of domestic assault and battery. A pretrial hearing was scheduled for Sept. 16.

July 11

Jaconias G. Costa, 59, of Oak Bluffs, pleaded guilty to an Oct. 9 charge in Oak Bluffs of drunken driving, second offense, ordered to 90 days in a house of correction, suspended two years and placed on probation for two years. Ordered to pay $100 in fees and a $65 monthly probation services fee and to attend a 14 day inpatient program and aftercare. Charges of negligent operation of a motor vehicle and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle were dismissed upon request of the commonwealth, and he was found not responsible on a charge of failure to stop/yield.

David A. Ferrell, 26, of Swarthmore, Pa., was arraigned on a July 10 charge of trespassing in West Tisbury. According to a police report, he allegedly trespassed into a secure area at the Martha’s Vineyard Airport by jumping a fence to get onto the runway. A pretrial hearing is scheduled for July 18.

Timothy J. Luce, 26, of Edgartown, was arraigned on July 9 charge in Oak Bluffs of drunken driving, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, marked lanes violation and speeding in violation of a special regulation. A pretrial hearing was scheduled for July 25.

Italo K. Mamedes, 21, of Oak Bluffs, pleaded guilty to a January 2012 charge of drunken driving in Oak Bluffs, ordered to pay a $500 fine/assessment. Charges of unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and negligent operation of a motor vehicle were dismissed upon request of the commonwealth and he was found not responsible on a marked lanes violation.

July 12

Nicholas A. Barbera, 27, of Vineyard Haven, was arraigned on July 1 charges in Oak Bluffs of drunken driving, operating under the influence of drugs (marijuana/depressants), negligent operation of a motor vehicle, speeding in violation of a special regulation, marked lanes violation and possessing an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle. According to a police report filed in court, Mr. Barbera allegedly crossed the center line and hit a taxi in the Harthaven area of Sea View avenue. Police allegedly found cans of beer and bottles of vodka and bourbon in the car he was driving. He was also arraigned on July 1 charges in Edgartown of negligent operation of a motor vehicle, leaving the scene of property damage and marked lanes violation for an incident immediately prior to the car accident in which he allegedly sideswiped a parked car near Bend in the Road beach, almost hitting a young child. A pretrial hearing was scheduled for August 15.

Marcelo Ferreira Barbosa, 26, of Edgartown, was placed on six months of pretrial probation for a June 16 charge in Edgartown of domestic assault and battery, ordered to remain alcohol free and attend Alcoholics Anonymous once weekly.

July 15

Lisa Vunk, 46, of Edgartown, pleaded guilty to March 14 charges in Oak Bluffs of trespassing and resisting arrest, placed on probation for one year, with no objection from the commonwealth to early termination if the defendant shows proof of moving to Florida. Ordered to pay a $50 victim/witness assessment fee. Charges of disorderly conduct and vandalizing property were dismissed upon request of the commonwealth.
