The Vineyard Gazette this week announced the publication of its second annual Martha’s Vineyard Real Estate Yearbook, a free resource guide for anyone interested in buying or selling property on the Island. Published in partnership with LINK, the primary multiple listing service for Martha’s Vineyard, the yearbook provides a comprehensive look at property transactions by town and neighborhood over a 12-month period that ended April 30, 2013. The yearbook also includes an analysis of real estate trends, and information about purchasing property on the Island.

The yearbook features color pictures and details about the more than 400 homes that changed hands last year, including price, lot size, living area, number of bedrooms and bathrooms. The listings are accompanied by descriptions of more than 30 Vineyard neighborhoods, a first-of-its-kind classification on the Island.

The yearbook was edited by Gazette news editor and director of digital content Vanessa Czarnecki.

Jane Seagrave, publisher of the Gazette, said the inaugural yearbook was warmly received and praised as a tool for better understanding the Vineyard real estate market.

“We had such a great reaction to last year’s yearbook that we decided to do it again,” said Ms. Seagrave.

While last year the book was published in September, the 2013 publication schedule was adjusted at the requests of readers and advertisers. “People told us they wanted it to be ready for the summer season, so in order to meet those request, we moved up our deadline by several months,” said Ms. Seagrave.

The yearbook is one facet of a new multi-year partnership between the Gazette and LINK, which tracks all arm’s-length purchases of real estate on the Vineyard. LINK provided much of the data for the yearbook, including comparative year-to-year statistics and analysis. The goal of the partnership is to augment the work of real estate professionals by ensuring that information available to the public is complete and accurate. “LINK is committed to providing the real estate community with comprehensive and reliable information to support and facilitate their work,” said Deb Blair, president of LINK. “The Gazette is a worthy partner in that endeavor.”

Copies of the 96-page yearbook are available starting today at locations around the Island, as well as at participating real estate offices. An online version of the yearbook can be found on our Real Estate page.
