The following cases were heard in Edgartown district court.

Dec. 31

Kyle J. Dubay, 19, of Vineyard Haven, arraigned on Dec. 20 charges in Oak Bluffs of assault and battery on a police officer, disturbing the peace and carrying a dangerous weapon (a box cutter). Pretrial hearing scheduled for Jan. 25.

Jan. 10

Emily Billing, 30, of Vineyard Haven, had a Dec. 20 charge of trespassing in Edgartown dismissed without prejudice.

Jaconias G. Costa, 58, of Oak Bluffs, arraigned on Oct. 9 charges in Oak Bluffs of drunken driving, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, failure to stop/yield, and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. Pretrial hearing scheduled for Feb. 7.

Anthony J. Deharo, 43, of Vineyard Haven, pleaded guilty to an Oct. 2011 charge in Oak Bluffs of drunken driving, second offense, amended from fourth offense. Ordered to two and a half years in a house of correction with 10 days to serve, the balance suspended three years and placed on probation for three years, ordered to a 14-day inpatient program and aftercare and to pay $100 in fees and a $65 monthly probation services fee, to remain alcohol-free with screens, not to drive without a license, and to compete 100 hours of community service. A charge of negligent operation of a motor vehicle was dismissed upon request of the commonwealth, and was found not responsible for failure to stop/yield.

Durvalino P. Dias, 59, of Oak Bluffs, pleaded guilty to an August 12 charge of unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in Edgartown, ordered to pay a $200 fine/assessment. Admitted to sufficient facts on a charge of negligent operation of a motor vehicle, continued without a finding for one year. Ordered to pay $300 in fees and a $50 monthly probation services fee.

Darren Dockery, 23, of Edgartown, had Jan. 6 charges of assault and battery, unarmed and assault burglary, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, and assault to murder dismissed upon request of the commonwealth and request of the alleged victim. Pleaded guilty to resisting arrest, placed on probation for one year, ordered to pay a $50 victim/witness assessment fee and a $50 monthly probation services fee, and pleaded guilty to unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, ordered to pay a $200 fine.

Jose Florencio, 35, of Edgartown, had an Oct. 29 charge of assault in Edgartown dismissed upon request of the commonwealth.

Gabriel Grasing, 37, of Edgartown, had a Dec. 20 charge of assault and battery in Edgartown dismissed without prejudice upon request of the commonwealth.

Melanie A. Lewis, 34, of Vineyard Haven, admitted to sufficient facts on a Sept. 7 charge of negligent operation of a motor vehicle in West Tisbury, continued without a finding for six months. Ordered to pay $300 in fees and a $50 monthly probation services fee. Found not responsible on charges of marked lanes violation and speeding.

Cory J. Rosa, 37, of New Bedford, placed on six months of pretrial probation on March 29 charges in Oak Bluffs of possessing to distribute class B drugs (Percocet) and conspiracy to violate drug law.

Vitor J. Silva, 23, of Oak Bluffs, had a Dec. 9 charge of assault and battery in Oak Bluffs dismissed without prejudice upon request of the commonwealth.

Jan. 11

Ralph E. Buck, 46, of Vineyard Haven, admitted to sufficient facts on a July 1 charge in Oak Bluffs of assault and battery, continued without a finding for one year. Ordered to pay $3,012 in restitution and a $50 victim/witness assessment fee and not to contact the alleged victim.

Nathan Maddern, 24, of Hamilton, pleaded guilty to a July 27 charge of assault and battery in Edgartown, amended from indecent assault and battery on a person 14 or older. Placed on probation for 18 months, ordered not to contact the victim, to remain alcohol-free, and to pay a $50 victim/witness assessment and a $50 monthly probation services fee.

Patrick McHugh, 27, of Edgartown, arraigned on Nov. 26 charges in Edgartown of breaking and entering a building in the nighttime for a felony, malicious destruction of property more than $250, and larceny from a building. He allegedly broke into Dock Street Diner, where he was employed, and stole about $300, and then allegedly smashed a window to make it look like it was part of other robberies that had taken place in the area. Pretrial hearing scheduled for Feb. 1.

Cynthia A. Sequeira, 55, of Edgartown, had a Sept. 2 charge in Edgartown of assault with a dangerous weapon (dishes) dismissed upon request of the commonwealth and the alleged victim.

Jan. 14

Jonathan S. Pike, 38, of Vineyard Haven, arraigned on Jan. 13 charges in Vineyard Haven of drunken driving, operating under the influence of drugs, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and possessing an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle. Pretrial hearing scheduled for Feb. 7.

Joseph D. Williams, 21, of Verona, Pa., faced August 13 charges in Oak Bluffs of rape and selling or delivering liquor to a person under 21. The commonwealth will not prosecute on either charge.

Raymond C. Williamson, 28, of North Attleboro, was arraigned on a July 22 charge in Oak Bluffs of leaving the scene of property damage. Pretrial hearing scheduled for Feb. 1.
