The following cases were heard in Edgartown district court.
Gabriel Grasing, 37, of Edgartown, arraigned on a Dec. 20 charge of domestic assault and battery in Edgartown. Pretrial hearing scheduled for Jan. 10.
Daniel K. Kaeka, 21, of West Tisbury, arraigned on a Dec. 28 charge in Oak Bluffs of trespassing for allegedly refusing to leave Dreamland after being asked to do so by the staff. Pretrial hearing scheduled for Jan. 28.
Anthony M. Cardoza, 22, of Vineyard Haven, will have Nov. 1 charges in Oak Bluffs of disorderly conduct and trespassing dismissed if 12 hours of community service per charge are completed by March 6.
Shaun Hickey, 34, of Edgartown, arraigned on Oct. 15 charges in Edgartown of negligent operation of a motor vehicle and leaving the scene of property damage. Pre-trial hearing scheduled for Jan. 31.
Nigel P. Gibbs, 28, of Boston, pleaded guilty to Feb. 25 charges in Oak Bluffs of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (shod foot) and aggravated assault and battery. Ordered to two and a half years in a house of correction, suspended two years and placed on probation for three years, and to pay $7,351.90 in restitution and a $90 victim/witness assessment. Also ordered not to contact and to stay away from the victim. The charge stems from an incident at Season’s Pub in which he kicked a man in the head. The victim had a broken jaw and lost a tooth.
Sally J. Joseph, 56, of West Tisbury, admitted to sufficient facts on a Sept. 10 charge of drunken driving in West Tisbury, continued without a finding for one year. Ordered to pay $350 in fees and to complete a 24 day driver alcohol education program and to lose license for 45 days. A charge of negligent operation of a motor vehicle was dismissed upon request of the commonwealth, and she was found not responsible for a marked lanes violation.
Andrew H. Martzell, 47, of West Tisbury, arraigned on Dec. 29 charges in Edgartown of malicious destruction of property more than $250 (a glass kitchen cabinet) and intimidating a witness. Pre-trial hearing scheduled for Feb. 4.
Charles T. Morgan, 51, of West Tisbury, pleaded guilty to a June 21 charge in Vineyard Haven of drunken driving, second offense, amended from fourth offense. Ordered to spend two and a half years in a house of correction, 10 days to serve and balance suspended three years, and placed on probation for three years. Ordered to remain alcohol-free with screens, not to drive without a license, to complete a 14-day inpatient program and aftercare, to pay $350 in fees and to complete 100 hours of community service. A charge of negligent operation of a motor vehicle was dismissed upon request of the commonwealth.
Walter Wlodyka, 64, of Chilmark, arraigned on Jan. 3 charges in Chilmark of drunken driving, marked lanes violation and leaving the scene of property damage. Pretrial hearing scheduled for March 7.
Robert C. Manning, 29, of Vineyard Haven, arraigned on a Jan. 3 charge in Vineyard Haven of malicious destruction of property more than $250 for allegedly throwing a flashlight at a car. In a separate case, arraigned on a Dec. 31 charge of assault and battery in Vineyard Haven. Bail set at $650 total for the two cases, pre-trial hearings scheduled for Jan. 24. Jan. 7
Ashlee Alexander, 24, of New Bedford, arraigned on a July 28 charge in Vineyard Haven of larceny over $250 by a single scheme. According to a police report filed in court, Ms. Alexander was the cashier supervisor at the Vineyard Haven Stop & Shop, and she allegedly committed 54 thefts during the summer through false product returns and stolen activated gift cards totaling $1,666.48. Stop and Shop was alerted to the issue through “a large amount of meat products being returned” to the store, and a review of surveillance video allegedly led them to Ms. Alexander. The report’s list of fraudulent returns over three weeks allegedly included more than $150 in seedless watermelon, dehumidifiers and an air conditioner, London broil and “unscanned meat.” Pre-trial hearing scheduled for Jan. 28.
Jackson K. Parker, 25, of Vineyard Haven, arraigned on Jan. 6 charges in Oak Bluffs of drunken driving, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, and marked lanes violation. Pre-trial hearing scheduled for Jan. 28.
Kelly A. Thayer, 25, of West Tisbury, arraigned on a Dec. 7 charge in Edgartown of attempt to commit a crime for allegedly conspiring with her boyfriend, Joseph A. Jones, to steal $10,000 in cash from Sophia’s One Stop Mart, where Ms. Thayer worked as a clerk. Pre-trial hearing scheduled for Feb. 8.
Karen L. Ward, 54, of West Tisbury, arraigned on an Oct. 3 charge of domestic assault and battery in West Tisbury. Feb. 19 pre-trial hearing scheduled.
