Editors, Vineyard Gazette:

Upon returning to our home on Aero avenue this past Tuesday, I was startled to see that a small, single-engine plane had crashed on our front lawn. It was white with a five-foot wing span and no military or commercial markings. We have no idea where it came from.

My first thought was that it might be some sort of reconnaissance drone launched by the Edgartown selectmen and/or planning board in order to locate a more suitable site for the cell tower they are considering placing on the silo at Katama Farm. However, there were no cameras or sensors in the craft, so that explanation is ruled out.
