The following cases were heard in Edgartown district court.

Nov. 9

Joshua Sperling, 30, of Chilmark, arraigned on a Nov. 6 charge in Vineyard Haven of possessing to distribute class D drugs (marijuana). According to a police report filed in court, he allegedly tried to sell a woman marijuana at Cronig’s Market. Pretrial hearing scheduled for Nov. 29.

Nov. 13

Jose L. Arias, 44, of Oak Bluffs, admitted to sufficient facts on a June 15 charge of negligent operation of a motor vehicle in Edgartown, continued without a finding for one year. Ordered to pay $300 in fees and a $50 monthly probation services fee. Found not guilty in a bench trial on a charge of drunken driving, and a responsible finding was filed for a marked lanes violation charge. Latoya Gatlin, 28, of Roslindale, found responsible for May 28 charge in Chilmark of possession of class D drugs (marijuana), amended from possession to distribute class D drugs. In a separate case, a May 28 charge of defrauding an innkeeper more than $100 will not be prosecuted.

Marjo Gjoka, 22, of Edgartown, arraigned on Nov. 13 charges in Oak Bluffs of drunken driving, failure to stop/yield, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, and failure to wear a seat belt. Pretrial hearing scheduled for Dec. 20.

Stanley J. Johnson, 52, of Oak Bluffs, pleaded guilty to a Feb. 10 charge in Oak Bluffs of wanton destruction of property less than $250 (a police radio antenna), ordered to spend 30 days in a house of correction concurrent with time he is serving in state prison for a superior court case. A responsible finding was filed on a charge of a marked lanes violation. Charges of failure to stop for police and resisting arrest were dismissed upon request of the commonwealth, and found not responsible for speeding in violation of special regulation. The charges stem from failing to pull over for police and then resisting arrest.

Peter J. Pate, 36, of West Tisbury, arraigned on a Nov. 12 charge in West Tisbury of domestic assault and battery. Pretrial hearing scheduled for Dec. 21.

John W. Sensabaugh, 51, of Oak Bluffs, arraigned on a Nov. 13 charge of domestic assault and battery in Oak Bluffs. Pretrial hearing scheduled for Dec. 20.

David H. Stevens, 57, of Milford, Conn., admitted to sufficient facts on a June 30 charge of drunken driving in Edgartown, continued without a finding for one year. Ordered to pay $350 in fees and a $65 monthly probation services fee, to complete a 24-day alcohol education program, and to lose license for 45 days. A charge of negligent operation of a motor vehicle was dismissed upon request of the commonwealth, and found not responsible for speeding.

Shane K. True, 30, of Edgartown, arraigned on Nov. 12 charges in Vineyard Haven of domestic assault and battery and threat to commit a crime. A pretrial hearing was scheduled for Nov. 23.

Nov. 14

Maurice A. Abisdid-Wagner, 22, of Oak Bluffs, arraigned on a July 20 charge in Edgartown of assault and battery. According to a police report filed in court, Mr. Flanders and Maurice Abisdid-Wagner allegedly “jumped” two men who were walking on Winter street after they heard one of the men say something about “locals,” and a fight allegedly ensued. Pretrial hearing scheduled for Jan. 4. Bruce J. Biller, 65, of Sudbury, pleaded guilty to an August 9 charge in West Tisbury of negligent operation of a motor vehicle, ordered to pay $1,300 in fines and assessments and a $50 monthly probation services fee. Found responsible for a charge of obstructing a stationary emergency vehicle, ordered to pay a $100 fine/assessment. A charge of drunken driving was dismissed upon request of the commonwealth. David M. Flanders, 21, of Oak Bluffs, arraigned on a July 20 charge in Edgartown of assault and battery. According to a police report filed in court, Mr. Flanders and Maurice Abisdid-Wagner allegedly “jumped” two men who were walking on Winter street after they heard one of the men say something about “locals,” and a fight allegedly ensued. Pretrial hearing scheduled for Jan. 4.

Sarah E. Moreis, 29, of Chilmark, admitted to sufficient facts on a June 16 charge in Oak Bluffs of assault and battery, continued without a finding for 18 months. Ordered to pay a $50 victim/witness assessment fee and a $50 monthly probation services fee and not to contact the victim or his/her immediate family.

Sarah E. Moreis, 29, of Chilmark, had a guilty finding filed for six months on a June 16 charge of disorderly conduct in Oak Bluffs.

Nov. 15

Francis P. Brown, 49, of Chilmark, pleaded guilty to a May 4 charge in West Tisbury of negligent operation of a motor vehicle, placed on probation for two years. Ordered to pay $300 in fees and a $65 monthly probation services fee, to remain alcohol-free with screens for two years, attend two AA meetings weekly for one year, and to complete 32 hours of community service. A charge of drunken driving, second offense, was dismissed upon request of the commonwealth, and found not responsible for a marked lanes violation.

Andre Chambers, 34, of Henderson, Nev., admitted to sufficient facts on Dec. 23, 2011 charges in Oak Bluffs of drunken driving and negligent operation of a motor vehicle, continued without a finding for one year. Ordered to pay $350 in fees and a $65 monthly probation services fee, to complete a 24-day driver alcohol education program, to lose license for 45 days, and to submit to a substance abuse evaluation and engage in any treatment as mandated. Found responsible for a charge of speeding and ordered to pay $200 fine. Found not responsible for charges of marked lanes violation and failure to wear a seatbelt, and a charge of failure to stop for police was dismissed upon request of the commonwealth.

Alvaro Lionco, 42, of Braintree, pleaded guilty to a May 6 charge in Oak Bluffs of negligent operation of a motor vehicle, placed on probation for one year. Ordered to pay $1,000 in fees and a $50 monthly probation services fee and to remain alcohol-free. A charge of drunken driving was dismissed upon request of the commonwealth, and found not responsible for a marked lanes violation.
