The following cases were heard in Edgartown district court.

 

Sept. 20

Drew W. Moreis, 19, of Vineyard Haven, was arraigned on a Sept. 18 charge in West Tisbury of larceny more than $250. He allegedly took a wallet containing more than $250 in cash while part of the community corrections program. A pretrial hearing was scheduled for Dec. 3.

 

Oct. 12

Peter J. Breese, 53, of Vineyard Haven, was arraigned on an Oct. 8 charge of domestic assault and battery in Vineyard Haven. A pretrial hearing was scheduled for Nov. 26.

Paul X. Conroy, 25, of Edgartown, had a July 25 charge in West Tisbury of assault with a dangerous weapon dismissed upon request of the commonwealth. A charge of carrying a firearm without a license will not be prosecuted.

Ronald A. Hall, 52, of Vineyard Haven, was arraigned on Oct. 7 charges in Oak Bluffs of drunken driving, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, possessing an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle, failure to stop/yield and failure to wear a seat belt. A pretrial hearing was scheduled for Oct. 26.

Benjamin R. Lima, 22, of Berlin, was arraigned on Oct. 7 charges in Oak Bluffs of disorderly conduct and assault and battery. A pretrial hearing was scheduled for Nov. 30.

 

Oct. 19

Aubrey Anderson, 40, of Oak Bluffs, was arraigned on Oct. 16 charges in Oak Bluffs of assault with a dangerous weapon (a machete), domestic assault and battery, intimidating a witness and threat to commit a crime. Bail was set at $1,000 surety, and a pretrial hearing scheduled for Nov. 29.

Drew W. Moreis, 19, of Vineyard Haven, was arraigned on two separate August 27 charges in Vineyard Haven of larceny less than $250 for allegedly stealing wallets around Memorial Park. A pretrial hearing was scheduled for Dec. 3.

Drew W. Moreis, 19, of Vineyard Haven, was arraigned on Aug. 27 charges in Vineyard Haven of receiving stolen property and two counts of larceny more than $250. The charges stem from the alleged theft of a backpack containing a laptop, cash and Ray Ban sunglasses from a taxi parked on Lagoon Pond Road. A pretrial hearing was scheduled for Dec. 3.

Kara L. Peters, 29, of Edgartown, admitted to sufficient facts on a June 7 charge in Edgartown of violating an abuse prevention order, continued without a finding for one year. Ordered to pay a $50 victim/witness assessment fee and a $50 monthly probation services fee.

William J. Roberts, 31, of East Falmouth, was placed on one year of pretrial probation for July 22 charges in Oak Bluffs of disorderly conduct, possessing class B drugs (cocaine) and possessing class C drugs.

Jesse J. Smith, 28, of Vineyard Haven, was arraigned on Oct. 18 charges in Vineyard Haven of assault and battery and intimidating a witness. A pretrial hearing was scheduled for Nov. 29.

Paul Sylvia Jr., 44, of Vineyard Haven, was arraigned on a Sept. 17 charge in Vineyard Haven of fugitive from justice on a court warrant. According to documents filed in court, there was an April 2010 warrant for his arrest out of Merrimack Superior Court in New Hampshire for uttering a forged prescription. Bail was set at $500 and a pretrial hearing scheduled for Oct. 26.

Lawrence Vaughn, 42, of Edgartown, had a Sept. 13 charge of assault and battery in Edgartown dismissed upon request of the victim.

Antone L. White, 56, of Oak Bluffs, admitted to sufficient facts on a July 14 charge in Edgartown of larceny less than $250, continued without a finding for one year and ordered to pay a $50 victim/witness assessment fee. According to documents filed in court, Mr. White was a full-time Oak Bluffs EMS employee and a per diem Edgartown EMS employee, and he allegedly told police that he took morphine from a syringe on an ambulance, replacing the morphine with saline. According to the police report, he said he had substance abuse issues and was admitted to a 30-day rehab program.
