The Animal Shelter of Martha’s Vineyard has kittens and more kittens — all ages and colors, males and females who are looking for forever homes. Won’t you please call or stop by the shelter to see these sweet little creatures? Other cats who are also looking for new homes and have been at the shelter for such a long time are Daisy the big, sweet gray kitty who loves people and loves sitting in a warm lap; Rex, a senior cat whose adoption fee will be waived if some kind angel will give her a loving home; and Vickie, a beautiful tabby and white cat who is new to the shelter and is only a year old. We also have a sweet little tan and white guinea pig named Bella who is waiting for a young person to love her.

Our featured animal this week is a sweet, very little long-haired Chihuahua named Buddy. He has been from foster home to foster home, is so sweet and shy and just wants to be by your side. Please come to see him if you are looking for a nice little dog to make your home complete. He is being neutered and will be all ready to go by Friday.

Shelter hours are Tuesdays and Wednesdays 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Thursdays and Fridays 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and Saturdays 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The shelter is closed Sunday and Monday. Call us at 508-627-8662.

Contributions are always gratefully accepted; we are funded solely by donations and rely on them to help with food, cleaning materials, medical expenses and all the things that it takes to keep the shelter going.
