The Edgartown selectmen sent a warning letter to the Flatbread Pizza Company after the popular restaurant by the airport closed early for the season.

Last week, selectmen authorized sending a letter of warning to Flatbread because it closed for the season in early September.

Karen Fuller, who is with the licensing department, said she believed that Flatbread’s seasonal license called for them to be open through Oct. 31.

“They got a letter because they closed for the season but they did not notify the selectmen,” she said.

She said the selectmen could give the restaurant permission to reopen for a one-time fundraising event for the Martha’s Vineyard Public Charter School that is planned for October.
