Editors, Vineyard Gazette:

We would like to thank the whole Island community for their continued support at our ongoing electronic waste and awareness collection drives held every Sunday now through Thanksgiving in a different Island town. We are writing in particular about the event held this past Sunday, Sept. 23 at the Menemsha Texaco parking lot by the town beach. And what a beautiful day it turned out to be. And not just because of the gorgeous weather, we were blessed with the many people who made the time to enjoy the sunset in Menemsha that day and found a little bit more than the sky on fire. This Sunday, Sept. 30, we will be in West Tisbury at the post office parking lot by Fella’s. The following Sunday we will be at Vineyard Medical Services in Vineyard Haven, and on Oct. 14 we will be in the field next to Our Market in Oak Bluffs.

At every event we will be collecting used but still-working household and electronic waste. Items we are looking for include cell phones, laptops, CPUs, monitors, bicycles for kids and beds in good condition.

An open mike for local musicians will be available to performers.

Again our deepest thanks and blessings.

If we all move an ounce that is not our own . . . .

We can move mountains together.

Alex Karalekas and Micah Sasha Meir, West Tisbury
