The following cases were heard in Edgartown district court:

August 17

Scott E. Fielding, 20, of Vineyard Haven, was arraigned on July 30 charges in West Tisbury of open and gross lewdness and disorderly conduct. Charges stem from allegedly exposing himself at Ice House Pond. Conditions of release included remaining alcohol and illicit drug-free with screens, reporting to probation at least once weekly, applying for Mass Health, being evaluated for counseling, and having a curfew between 8 p.m. and 8 a.m. On August 30 a request to revoke bail was approved after another charge. Pretrial hearing scheduled for Sept. 6. He was also arraigned on a March 8 charge in West Tisbury of larceny under $250 for allegedly stealing an Amazon Kindle from a West Tisbury residence. Pretrial hearing scheduled for Sept. 6.

August 24

Matthew S. Look, 32, of Edgartown, pleaded guilty to a Sept. 5, 2011 charge of wanton destruction of property more than $250, ordered to serve 90 days in a house of correction and placed on probation for six months. Ordered to pay $360 in restitution along with his co-defendant. Charges of larceny more than $250 and breaking and entering a vehicle/boat in the daytime for a felony were dismissed on request of the commonwealth. The charges stem from the theft of a purse from a vehicle parked at the state forest.

Jedidiah R. Sanfilippo, 24, of Chilmark, was placed on pretrial probation for one year on a July 28 charge in Oak Bluffs of possessing class B drugs (cocaine). Ordered to remain drug-free (with screens from May 23 to Sept. 1) and to complete 40 hours of community service by Sept. 4, 2013.

August 27

John M. Francis, 48, of Pepperell, was arraigned on August 26 charges in Edgartown of drunken driving, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and a marked lanes violation. Pretrial hearing scheduled for Sept. 28.

August 30

Scott E. Fielding, 20, of Oak Bluffs, was arraigned on an August 27 charge of open and gross lewdness in Tisbury. The charge stems from an incident at the beach on Owen Little Way. Bail set at $500, motions hearing scheduled for Sept. 6.

Nicholas Viera, 22, of Edgartown, had a July 21 charge of assault and battery in Edgartown dismissed after accord and satisfaction were filed.

August 31

Amanda R. Berninger, 30, of Oak Bluffs, had an August 13 charge of assault and battery in Oak Bluffs dismissed upon failure to prosecute.

Ralph E. Buck, 45, of Vineyard Haven, arraigned on a July 1 charge of assault and battery in Oak Bluffs, for allegedly hitting another man in the nose at the Ritz Cafe. Pretrial hearing scheduled for Oct. 5.

Corey A. Crump, 35, of Boston, pleaded guilty to a July 3 charge in Oak Bluffs of possessing to distribute class B drugs (cocaine), ordered to 18 months in a house of correction with one year to serve, balance suspended one year, 60 days of jail credit given and placed on probation for one year. Ordered to forfeit $3,138. Upon showing proof of residency in Boston and payment of fees, probation may be terminated early. Charges of possessing to distribute class A drugs (heroin) and conspiracy to violate drug law were dismissed on request of the commonwealth.

Nelson Ferreira, 36, of Edgartown, pleaded guilty to a July 17 charge of assault and battery in Edgartown, placed on probation for one year with level three sanctions and ordered to pay a $50 victim/witness assessment fee and a $65 monthly probation services fee. A charge of intimidating a witness was dismissed on request of the commonwealth.

Brett Geddis, 22, of Edgartown, pleaded guilty to July 7 charges in Vineyard Haven of assault and battery and malicious destruction of property less than $250, placed on probation for one year and ordered to pay a $50 victim/witness assessment fee.

Herbert L. Jackson, 63, of Oak Bluffs, pleaded guilty to a July 9 charge in Oak Buffs of larceny over $250, ordered to 90 days in a house of correction, suspended one year, and placed on probation for one year. Ordered to pay $200 in restitution, a $50 victim/witness assessment fee, and a $50 monthly probation services fee. A charge of receiving stolen property was dismissed upon request of the commonwealth. The charges stemmed from taking a purse containing cash, credit cards and a cell phone belonging to a woman dropping her child off at the YMCA.

John H. Perron, 22, of Worcester, admitted to sufficient facts on a July 22 charge of municipal bylaw ordinance violation (possessing an open container of alcohol), continued without a finding for six months. Ordered to pay a $50 victim/witness assessment fee and a $50 monthly probation services fee. A charge of larceny more than $250 (a moped) was dismissed on request of the commonwealth.

John J. Tripp, 38, of Vineyard Haven, was arraigned on August 31 charges in Aquinnah of drunken driving, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. Pretrial hearing scheduled for Sept. 24.
