The following cases were heard in Edgartown district court.

July 16

Benjamin J. Michaels, 22, of Kattskill Bay, N.Y., arraigned on July 8 charges in Edgartown of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. Pretrial hearing continued to August 13.

July 27

Trevor J. Medeiros, 20, of Vineyard Haven, arraigned on two counts of statutory rape of a child on July 24 in Vineyard Haven. Bail originally set at $25,000 but was reduced to $5,000 cash. Ordered to stay away from the alleged victim (a 13-year-old girl known to him), remain drug and alcohol-free with screens, report to probation three times a week and to remain employed. Pretrial hearing continued to August 27.

August 2

Christopher Lowe, 37, of Oak Bluffs, arraigned on a July 31 charge in Oak Bluffs of violating a harassment prevention order. Pretrial hearing scheduled for Sept. 7.

Cheranne L. Willoughby, 31, of Oak Bluffs, pleaded guilty to 11 counts of larceny from a building on Nov. 15 in Vineyard Haven. Ordered to serve two years in a house of correction, suspended for three years. According to information filed with the district court, Ms. Willoughby, the cash office manager at the Vineyard Haven Stop & Shop, stole $3,600 from the store between Nov. 15 and Dec. 4 by billing the store more than was actually spent by customers with charge accounts. Ordered to pay $4,000 in restitution, a $90 victim/witness assessment fee, a $50 monthly probation services fee, to stay away from the Vineyard Haven Stop & Shop and to submit a DNA sample.

August 3

Shivi Datta, 22, of Oak Bluffs, pleaded guilty to July 15 charges in Edgartown of larceny from a building less than $250 (amended from larceny from a building) and larceny less than $250, amended from larceny more than $250, placed on probation for one year. Ordered to pay $200 in restitution, a $50 victim/witness assessment, and a $50 monthly probation services fee.

August 6

Keona M. Chung, 20 of Hyannis, admitted to sufficient facts on April 26 charges in Oak Bluffs of assault and battery and disorderly conduct, continued without a finding for one year. Ordered to complete 20 hours of community services, pay a $50 victim/witness assessment and a $50 monthly probation services fee, and restitution to be determined.

Mardin R. Goncalves, 21, of Vineyard Haven, arraigned on July 5 charges in Vineyard Haven of assault and battery and evading a taxi fare. Pretrial hearing scheduled for Sept. 4.

Martin L. Hayes, 23, of Jennings, Fla., admitted to sufficient facts on a July 3 charge in Oak Bluffs of vandalizing property, continued without a finding for one year. Ordered to pay $440 in restitution, a $50 victim/witness assessment, and a $50 monthly probation services fee.

Darin L. Millen, 45, of Edgartown, arraigned on an August 4 charge in Chilmark of assault and battery. Pretrial hearing scheduled for Sept. 4.

Arthur Oliver, 41, of Lenox, arraigned on August 4 charges in Aquinnah of drunken driving, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, speeding in violation of special regulation, and possessing an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle. Pretrial hearing scheduled for Oct. 5.

Padrick L. Peper, 43, of Los Angeles, arraigned on August 4 charges in Aquinnah of drunken driving, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. Pretrial hearing scheduled for Sept. 14.

Brianna L. Smith, 27, of Edgartown, arraigned on an August 4 charge of assault and battery in Vineyard Haven. Pretrial hearing scheduled for Sept. 14.

Elizabeth Watkins, 32, of Vineyard Haven, admitted to sufficient facts on a July 11 charge in Vineyard Haven of drunken driving, continued without a finding for one year. Ordered to pay $350 in fees and a $65 monthly probation fee, to complete a 24 day alcohol education program, and to lose license for 45 days. A charge of negligent operation of a motor vehicle was dismissed upon request of the commonwealth.
