The following cases were heard in Edgartown district court.

July 19

Gregory O. Decosmo, 32, of Foxboro, pleaded guilty to a June 18 charge in Chilmark of negligent operation of a motor vehicle, placed on probation for one year. Ordered to pay $300 in fees and a $50 monthly probation services fee and complete 32 hours of community service. Found responsible for possessing an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle, ordered to pay a $500 fine. A charge of drunken driving was dismissed upon request of the commonwealth, found not responsible for a marked lanes violation.

July 20

Carter K. Berardi, 22, of Hurley, N.Y., arraigned on July 20 charges in Edgartown of drunken driving, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, marked lanes violation and speeding in violation of special regulation. Pretrial hearing scheduled for August 10.

Kara A. Marshall, 24, of Oak Bluffs, admitted to sufficient facts on April 13 charges in Oak Bluffs of assault and trespassing, continued without a finding for six months. Ordered to pay a $50 victim witness assessment and a $50 monthly probation services fee, given option to perform 39 hours of community service instead of fees.

July 23

Siobhan E. Francis, 24, of East Falmouth, arraigned on a July 20 charge in West Tisbury of possessing class B drugs (MDMA/Ecstasy). Pretrial hearing scheduled for August 23.

Jason S. Hansen, 34, of Marco Island, Fla., placed on pretrial probation for three months on a June 6 charge of assault and battery in Oak Bluffs.

Mathew D. McAdams, 17, of Marshfield, arraigned on July 20 charges in Vineyard Haven of breaking and entering in the daytime for felony, larceny more than $250, malicious destruction of property less than $250, and possessing a burglarious instrument. The charges stem from allegedly breaking into a residence and stealing safes containing more than $19,000 in cash. Bail set at a $2,000 surety, pretrial hearing scheduled for August 16.

Jason Willoughby, 27, of Vineyard Haven, arraigned on July 20 charges in West Tisbury of operating a motor vehicle with license suspended and possessing class E drugs (Alprazolam). Pretrial hearing scheduled for August 23.

July 24

David Henry, 39, of Oak Bluffs, admitted to sufficient facts on a July 8 charge in Vineyard Haven of drunken driving, continued without a finding for one year. Ordered to pay $350 in fees and a $65 monthly probation services fee, to complete a 24-day alcohol education program and to lose license for 45 days. A charge of unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle was dismissed upon request of the commonwealth and was found not responsible for unregistered motor vehicle.

July 26

Richard A. Campbell 2nd, 36, of Vineyard Haven, will have an April 14 charge in Vineyard Haven of larceny from a building dismissed if court costs of $50 are paid by August 22. A charge of malicious destruction of property more than $250 was dismissed upon request of the commonwealth.

Paul X. Conroy, 25, of Edgartown, arraigned on a July 25 charge of assault with a dangerous weapon (a firearm/pistol). The charges stem from allegedly brandishing a gun during a sale of cocaine. Bail set at $5,000, pretrial hearing continued to August 23.

Steven Devito, 46, of Oak Bluffs, admitted to sufficient facts on a Jan. 8 charge in Oak Bluffs of assault and battery, continued without a finding for 18 months. Ordered to pay a $50 victim witness assessment fee and a $50 monthly probation services fee, and not to contact the victim. A charge of unlawful wiretap was dismissed upon request of the commonwealth.

Benjamin D. Fogg, 30, of West Tisbury, arraigned on May 31 charges in West Tisbury of breaking and entering a building in the nighttime for felony, possessing burglarious instrument, larceny from a building, and malicious destruction of property more than $250. He allegedly broke into Vineyard Gardens and stole a cash drawer. Bail was set at $1,000, and he was ordered to remain alcohol-free with screens. Pretrial hearing scheduled for August 10.

Benjamin D. Fogg, 30, of West Tisbury, arraigned on July 25 charges in Oak Bluffs of malicious destruction of property more than $250 and disorderly conduct. The charge stems from allegedly smashing out the back window of a car on Circuit avenue. Bail set at $1,000, pretrial hearing scheduled for August 10.

Benjamin D. Fogg, 30, of West Tisbury, arraigned on a June 18 charge in Oak Bluffs of malicious destruction of property less than $250. The charge stems from allegedly throwing a rock at a window screen. Bail set at $1,000, pretrial hearing set for August 10.

Terrence L. Gilmer, 26, of Vineyard Haven, was found guilty on a Nov. 29 charge of assault and battery in Vineyard Haven. Placed on probation for one year, ordered not to contact the victim and to pay a $50 victim witness assessment and a $65 monthly probation services fee. Found not guilty on a charge of attempt to commit a crime.

Brian Hackett, 25, of Vineyard Haven, arraigned on July 23 charges in Vineyard Haven of assault and battery and intimidating a witness. Pretrial hearing scheduled for August 24.

July 27

Corey E. Karlberg, 17, of Marshfield, arraigned on July 20 charges in Vineyard Haven of malicious destruction of property less than $250 and possessing burglarious instruments.

Nathan Maddern, 24, of Hamilton, arraigned on a July 27 charge in Edgartown of indecent assault and battery on a person 14 or older. Pretrial hearing scheduled for August 24.

Richard Nascimento, 34, of New Bedford, admitted to sufficient facts on a March 29 charge in Oak Bluffs of possessing class B drugs (cocaine), amended from possessing to distribute class B drugs, continued without a finding for six months. Ordered to pay a $50 victim witness assessment and a $50 monthly probation services fee. A charge of conspiracy to violate drug law was dismissed upon request of the commonwealth.

Samuel Stevens, 25, of Milford, Conn., arraigned on July 27 charges in Oak Bluffs of drunken driving, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, and speeding in violation of special regulations. Pretrial hearing scheduled for August 24.

July 30

Antonio C. Grillo, 22, of Vineyard Haven, arraigned on July 29 charges in Edgartown of drunken driving and negligent operation of a motor vehicle. Pretrial hearing scheduled for August 10.

Ryan T. Hart, 21, of Oak Bluffs, admitted to sufficient facts on a June 25 charge in Oak Bluffs of assault and battery, continued without a finding for one year, ordered to pay $50 victim witness assessment and $50 monthly probation services fee. A charge of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon was dismissed upon request of the commonwealth.

Richard K. Nichols, 57, of Vineyard Haven, arraigned on July 28 charges in West Tisbury of drunken driving, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, and marked lanes violation. Pretrial hearing scheduled for August 27.

Jedidiah R. Sanfilippo, 24, of Chilmark, arraigned on a July 28 charge in Oak Bluffs of possessing class B drugs (cocaine). Pretrial hearing scheduled for August 24.
