The following cases were heard in Edgartown district court:
Joshua K. Edwards, 28, of Vineyard Haven, pleaded guilty to a July 2011 charge in Edgartown of assault and battery, ordered to two years in a house of correction with 30 days to serve (deemed served), balance suspended two years. Placed on probation for two years and ordered not to abuse victim. Admitted to sufficient facts on a charge of intimidating a witness, continued without a finding for two years concurrent with the first count. A charge of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (pavement) was dismissed upon request of the commonwealth.
Kathryn A. Price, 21, of Old Saybrook, Conn., was arraigned on June 30 charges in Vineyard Haven of drunken driving, marked lanes violation and negligent operation of a motor vehicle. A pretrial hearing was scheduled for July 23.
David H. Stevens, 57, of Milford, Conn., was arraigned on June 30 charges in Edgartown of drunken driving, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and speeding. A pretrial hearing was scheduled for August 3.
Austin Foote, 23, of Fairfield, Conn., was arraigned on a July 3 charge in Edgartown of breaking and entering for misdemeanor. A pretrial hearing was scheduled for August 10.
Zachary T. Greer, 29, of Oak Bluffs, admitted to sufficient facts on a July 4 charge in Oak Bluffs of possessing a class B drug (cocaine), continued without a finding for one year. Ordered to pay a $50 victim/witness assessment fee and a $50 monthly probation services fee.
Martin L. Hayes, 23, of Jennings, Fla., was arraigned on a July 2 charge in Oak Bluffs of vandalizing property (the windshield of a car he co-owned). A pretrial hearing was scheduled for August 6.
Joseph Lacaprucia, 24, of Oak Bluffs, was arraigned on July 2 charges in Oak Bluffs of disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and assault and battery on a police officer. Bail was set at $1,000, and further conditions of bail include reporting three times a week to probation and remaining drug and alcohol free with screens. He was allegedly found drunk outside of Giordano’s in Oak Bluffs and spit in a police officer’s face. A pretrial hearing scheduled for July 19.
Barbara C. Beichek, 60, of Oak Bluffs, was arraigned on July 5 charges in Oak Bluffs of drunken driving, making an improper turn and failure to drive in right lane. A pretrial hearing was scheduled for July 30.
Benjamin Dunbar, 29, of Vineyard Haven, admitted to sufficient facts on a June 6 charge of drunken driving in Vineyard Haven, continued without a finding for one year. Ordered to pay $350 in fees and a $65 monthly probation services fee, complete a 24 day alcohol education program and lose license for 45 days. Was found not responsible for charges of failure to signal and speeding in violation of special regulations.
David Hedley 3rd, 43, of San Francisco, was arraigned on July 6 charges in Edgartown of keeping a noisy or disorderly house and selling or delivering liquor to a person under 21. A pretrial hearing was scheduled for July 20.
