The following cases were heard in Edgartown district court:

June 28

Ryan T. Hart, 21, of Oak Bluffs, was arraigned on June 25 charges in Oak Bluffs of assault and battery and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (shod foot, sneaker). Bail was set at $500 and a pretrial hearing scheduled for July 30.

William F. Mcdevitt 2nd, 49, of Oak Bluffs, arraigned on June 26 charges in Tisbury of drunken driving, fourth offense, operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, subsequent offense, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, possessing a class E drug (Xanax), and resisting arrest. Pretrial hearing scheduled for July 30.

Benjamin Morrell, 30, of Northport, N.Y., arraigned on June 28 charges in Edgartown of drunken driving, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, and a marked lanes violation. Pretrial hearing scheduled for July 30.

Sophie Shalhoub, 18, of Los Angeles, arraigned on June 26 charges in Oak Bluffs of failure to stop for police, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, person under 21 attempting to procure alcohol, marked lanes violation, and speeding in violation of special regulation. Pretrial hearing scheduled for July 9.

Jesse J. Smith, 28, of West Tisbury, arraigned on an April 20 charge in West Tisbury of assault and battery. A pretrial hearing was scheduled for July 30. June 29

Joshua K. Edwards, 28, of Vineyard Haven, pleaded guilty to a July 2011 charge in Edgartown of violating an abuse prevention order, 30 days in a house of correction deemed served.

Robert J. Elliott, 52, of Edgartown, arraigned on June 28 charges in Edgartown of drunken driving, third offense, operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, and negligent operation of a motor vehicle. Pretrial hearing scheduled for July 27.

Angela Rue-Vanallen, 48, of Milton, will have a Dec. 28 charge in Oak Bluffs of abandoning a motor vehicle dismissed upon payment of $50 in court costs/restitution, and was found not responsible for an unregistered motor vehicle charge.

Charles J. Rutkowski, 31, of Oak Bluffs, admitted to sufficient facts on a Sept. 5 charge in Edgartown of larceny less than $250, amended from larceny more than $250, continued without a finding for six months. Charges stem from allegedly breaking into a car parked at the state forest. Ordered to pay $360 in restitution and a $50 victim witness assessment fee. Charges of wanton destruction of property more than $250 and breaking and entering a vehicle/boat in the daytime for felony were dismissed upon request of the commonwealth.

Adam V. Tucker, 24, of Edgartown, pleaded guilty to a May 10 charge in Edgartown of possessing to distribute class B drugs (Percocet), placed on probation for one year. Ordered to serve one year in a house of correction, 30 days deemed served, balance suspended for one year. Ordered to pay a $90 victim witness assessment, have level three probation sanctions, forfeit $250, and to enter the Vineyard House. A charge of conspiracy to violate drug law was dismissed upon request of the commonwealth.

July 2

Scott E. Fielding, 20, of Vineyard Haven, arraigned on a May 16 charge in Vineyard Haven of indecent exposure. Pretrial hearing scheduled for July 27. In a separate case, was arraigned on Vineyard Haven charges of breaking entering in the daytime for felony, unarmed robbery, assault and battery, intimidating a witness, larceny more than $250 and threat to commit a crime. Pretrial hearing scheduled for July 27.
