The following cases were heard in Edgartown district court.

March 26

Josenaldo A. Deoliveira, 42, of Vineyard Haven, arraigned on charges of assault, threat to commit a crime, and intimidating a witness on March 25 in Vineyard Haven. Bail set at $2,000, and a pretrial hearing was continued to April 27.

March 29

Michelle O’Donnell, 26, of Vineyard Haven, arraigned on a Feb. 7 Oak Bluffs charge of assault and battery for allegedly attacking a woman on a neighboring treadmill during an altercation at the YMCA. An April 6 pretrial hearing was scheduled.

March 30

Marvin J. Brown, 50, of East Falmouth had Jan. 20 Vineyard Haven charges of possessing to distribute class B drugs (cocaine) and conspiracy to violate drug law dismissed on request of the commonwealth.

Richard Nascimento, 34, of New Bedford, arraigned on March 29 Oak Bluffs charges of possessing to distribute class B drugs (Percocet) and conspiracy to violate drug laws. According to the police report, Mr. Nascimento was one of the targets of a three-month Martha’s Vineyard Drug Task Force narcotics investigation involving the distribution of Percocet pills, and he was arrested when officers executed a search warrant at Surfside Motel. Bail set at $1,000, pretrial hearing scheduled for April 6.

Shannon M. Reed, 31, of New Bedford, arraigned on March 29 Oak Bluffs charges of possessing to distribute class B drugs (Percocet) and conspiracy to violate drug law. According to the police report, Ms. Reed was one of the targets of a three-month Martha’s Vineyard Drug Task Force narcotics investigation involving the distribution of Percocet pills, and he was arrested when officers executed a search warrant at Surfside Motel. Bail set at $500, pretrial hearing scheduled for May 4.

Thomas E. Scott, 54, of Edgartown, admitted sufficient facts on an April 2010 charge of drunken driving in Edgartown, continued without a finding for one year. Ordered to pay $350 in fees and a $65 monthly probation services fee, complete an alcohol education program and to lose license for 45 days. Found not responsible for charges of failure to stop/yield and marked lanes violation, charge of negligent operation of a motor vehicle was dismissed on request of the commonwealth.

Dean R. Shores, 35, of Sandwich, had a July 2011 Oak Bluffs charge of assault and battery on a police officer dismissed on request of the commonwealth.

April 2

Casey Smith, 22, of Edgartown arraigned on April 1 charges of assault and battery and malicious destruction of property more than $250 in Edgartown. April 6 pretrial hearing scheduled.
