Help plan a student garden, eat a delicious locally-sourced meal. It doesn’t get any better. On Wednesday at 6 p.m., the regional high school culinary arts program, Island Grown Schools and Island farmer Chris Fischer will team up for a special fundraiser to kick off the upcoming garden project at the high school. Mr. Fischer, a farmer and chef who writes a monthly food column for the Gazette, will prepare a three-course meal, and students leading the garden initiative will present their plans for this inspiring addition to the school. The plan calls for transforming an unused courtyard into garden space. All proceeds from the event will go toward soil, seeds and tools for the garden.

Seating is limited; e-mail kaila@islandgrown.org to reserve tickets.
