The Martha’s Vineyard Law Enforcement Council will conduct a training exercise in Oak Bluffs on Tuesday between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. The training exercise will take place on Anthier’s Lane, near Farm Neck Golf Club. SWAT vehicles may be visible in the area during that time.

The SWAT-style training scenario is intended to prepare local law enforcement agencies for complicated, high-risk encounters. The training will utilize resources from the Barnstable County Sheriff’s Department, the Dukes County Sheriff’s Department, the Martha’s Vineyard Law Enforcement Council, Oak Bluffs EMS and Oak Bluffs Emergency Management.

The Anthier’s Lane training site was donated to the Oak Bluffs police and fire departments by a seasonal resident whose home was slated for demolition.
