The following cases were heard in Edgartown district court.

Feb. 14

Stephen J. Carlson, 47, of Oak Bluffs, pleaded guilty to a May 27 charge in Oak Bluffs of drunken driving, second offense. Placed on probation for two years, ordered to complete alcohol education program, lose license for 45 days, and pay $350 in fees and a $65 monthly probation services fee. Found not responsible for other May 27 charges of speeding in violation of special regulation and registration not in possession, and charge of negligent operation of a motor vehicle dismissed upon request of the commonwealth

Nikolai M. Dranichnikov, 32, of Oak Bluffs, found not guilty for June 11 charge in Vineyard Haven of drunken driving, second offense, and found not responsible for charge of having no inspection sticker.

Feb. 15

Andrew H. Martzell, 46, of West Tisbury, had May 7 charge of drunken driving in West Tisbury dismissed on request of the commonwealth, pleaded guilty to charge of negligent operation of a motor vehicle. Placed on probation for one year, ordered to pay $50 victim witness fee and $50 monthly probation services fee.

Feb. 16

Bradford Belding, 43, of Avon, Conn., arraigned on charges of drunken driving, marked lanes violation and possessing open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle on Feb. 15 in Oak Bluffs. Bail set at $300, March 9 pretrial hearing set.

Feb. 17

Alex W. Carlson, 25, of Edgartown, arraigned on Vineyard Haven charges of possessing to distribute class A drugs (heroin), resisting arrest, and assault and battery on a police officer on Feb. 16. According to a police report, Mr. Carlson was wanted on a warrant from Barnstable superior court after leaving a treatment facility. When police officers approached him at the Steamship Authority, he allegedly struck officers in the face with his elbows, and 6.75 grams of heroin was allegedly found in his wallet. Bail set at $10,000 cash, pretrial hearing scheduled for March 9.

Sharon H. Fisher, 45, of Oak Bluffs admitted to sufficient facts in a July 4 charge of drunken driving in Oak Bluffs, continued without a finding for one year. Ordered to pay $600 in fees, complete alcohol treatment program, and lose license for 45 days. Found not responsible for another July 4 charge of failure to stop/yield, and charge of negligent operation of a motor vehicl dismissed upon request of the commonwealth.
