On New Year’s Day a destructive house fire in Oak Bluffs threatened the life of Island resident Paola Ayala Fuller. Everything she owned was destroyed. Now, a group of Ms. Fuller’s friends is seeking to help her regain her footing with a fundraiser at Season’s Restaurant & Pub on Saturday, Jan. 21 from 5 to 8 p.m.

The fundraiser will feature music by Sabrina and Groover, hors d’oeuvres, a live auction, a raffle and a cash bar. Live auction and raffle items include dinner for six with a private chef, a helicopter tour of the Island, dinner for two at Chesca’s, a $100 gift card to Rainy Day and a facial from Revive by Sarka. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased in advance from Bunch of Grapes, Rocco’s Pizzeria, the Martha’s Vineyard Chamber of Commerce, Bouclé Salon & Spa and both the Oak Bluffs and West Tisbury locations of Conroy Apothecary. Tickets also may be purchased at the door the night of the event. All proceeds from the fundraiser will be given directly to Ms. Fuller.

Those unable to attend the fund-raiser may direct cash, check and credit card donations to the Martha’s Vineyard Chamber of Commerce. Donations may be dropped off in person at the Chamber of Commerce headquarters in Vineyard Haven, or mailed to c/o Friends of Paola, P.O. Box 1698, Vineyard Haven, MA 02568. Checks should be made out to Paola Fuller. Credit card donations can be made by calling Alisa at the Chamber at 508-693-0085, ext. 17. Donations will be accepted Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information on ways to assist Ms. Fuller, visit the Friends of Paola Facebook page at facebook.com/friendsofpaola.
