The following cases were heard in Edgartown district court:

Jan. 3

Michael E. Almeida, Jr., 31, of Fairhaven was arraigned on a Jan. 2 charge of assault and battery in Tisbury and released on $400 bail. Pretrial hearing set for Jan. 13.

Joshua W. Crossland, 23, of Edgartown, was arraigned on a charge of assault and battery on Dec. 30 in Edgartown. Pretrial hearing is set for Jan. 19.

Christopher M. Gilmore, 24, of Southwick, was arraigned on charges of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest on Jan. 1 in Oak Bluffs, released on $100 bail. Pretrial conference set for Jan. 30.

Jan. 4

Michael E. Almeida, Jr., 31, of Fairhaven was arraigned on a Jan. 3 charge of violating an abuse prevention order in Edgartown. Pretrial hearing was continued until Jan. 13.

Jan. 5

Breno E. Silva, 26, of Vineyard Haven, admitted to sufficient facts on an August 17 charge of assault and battery in Oak Bluffs, continued without a finding for one year. Ordered to pay a $50 victim witness fee and a monthly $50 probation service fee, not to abuse the alleged victim, to remain alcohol and illicit drug free with screens, and to complete drug treatment as mandated by probation.

Jenette Sadowski, 52, of Edgartown admitted to sufficient facts on an August 18 charge of assault and battery in Edgartown, continued without a finding for one year. Ordered to pay a $50 victim witness fee and a $50 monthly probation services fee, to remain alcohol free with random screens, and to maintain current counseling.

James M. Creech, 66, of Vineyard Haven, arraigned for a Sept. 28 charge of larceny by check over $250 in Edgartown, arraignment continued until Feb. 13.

Deirdre Lynch, 37, of West Tisbury admitted to sufficient facts on a Nov. 30 charge of drunken driving in Edgartown, continued without a finding for a year. Ordered to pay $600 in fines and a $65 monthly probation services charge, complete a 24-day alcohol education program and lose license for 45 days. Another charge of negligent operation of a motor vehicle was dismissed upon request of the commonwealth, found not responsible for a marked lanes violation.

Vernon G. Welch, 26, of Aquinnah, admitted to sufficient facts on a Nov. 5 charge of selling or delivering liquor to people under 21 in West Tisbury, continued without a finding for six months. Ordered to pay $50 victim witness fee and a $50 monthly probation services fee.

Jan. 6

Jamie Harper, 51, of Edgartown, had an Oct. 20 charge of assault and battery in Edgartown dismissed upon request of the commonwealth.

Scott E. Fielding, 19, of Vineyard Haven, arraigned on a Nov. 3 charge of assault and battery in Edgartown. Feb. 6 pretrial hearing was scheduled.

Jared E. Fisher, 28, of Edgartown, placed on pretrial probation for six months for May 2011 charges of possessing class B drugs (Oxycontin), possessing class B drugs (Oxymorphone), and conspiracy to violate drug law in Edgartown.

Joseph E. Fournier, 18, of West Tisbury, arraigned on Nov. 3 charge of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon in Edgartown. He allegedly cut Scott Fielding below his lower lip with a folding knife. Pretrial hearing set for Feb. 6.

Gabriel Grasing, 36, of Edgartown, araigned on Oct. 19 charge of possessing to distribute class D drugs (marijuana) in Edgartown. Jan. 26 pretrial hearing is scheduled.

Kelly E. Slavin, 37, of Fairhaven, will have an Oct. 13 charge of perjury dismissed if $250 in court costs are paid by Feb. 8. She was charged with lying about whether she possessed two French bulldogs, Toy Boy and Leona, belonging to a West Tisbury woman.

Erik W. Nelson, 37, of Oak Bluffs, arraigned on three Dec. 10 charges of larceny over $250, uttering false check and forgery of check in Oak Bluffs. Also arraigned on Dec. 9 charges of violating an abuse prevention order and trespassing in Oak Bluffs. Arraignments were continued until Feb. 3.

Jan. 10

Scott Lively, 39, of Edgartown admitted to sufficient facts on two Nov. 15 charges of carrying a firearm without a firearms identification card (amended from two charges of carrying a handgun without a license), and improper storage of a firearm, continued without a finding for one year. He was ordered to forfeit the guns and pay a $50 victim witness assessment fee and a monthly $50 probation services fee. Another charge of leaving a firearm in a vehicle was dismissed upon request of the commonwealth.

Brian W. Harmon, 41, of Danville, N.H., pleaded guilty to a December 2010 charge of negligent operation of a motor vehicle in Tisbury. Ordered to pay $300 in fees and $6,937 in restitution, and placed on probation for two years with a $50 monthly probation service fee. Other Dec. 6 charges of drunken driving and three counts of wanton destruction of property more than $250 were dismissed upon request of the commonwealth, found not responsible for a marked lanes violation.
