Black Powder Shoot

The Martha’s Vineyard Rod & Gun Club will hold its 12th annual Black Powder Shoot on Sunday, Dec. 11 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., one day in advance of the start of primitive firearm deer season. Members and the public are invited to participate in the muzzle-loading marksmanship competition.

Scopes are allowed. The winner of the competition will receive a Black Powder Champion’s trophy and have his or her name engraved on the Black Powder clubhouse perpetual plaque. Other prizes include hams donated by Cronig’s Market. There is a small fee for participation in the event.
