The following cases were heard in Edgartown district court.

Nov. 7

Charles M. Everett, 18, West Tisbury, was arraigned on Nov. 6 charges in Oak Bluffs of disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, person under 21 possessing liquor and false/misuse of liquor ID card or license. Pretrial hearing set for Nov. 25.

Nov. 9

Cesar A. Marquez, 51, of Oak Bluffs, arraigned on a Nov. 9 charge in Oak Bluffs of assault and battery. Bail set at $2,000 cash or $20,000 surety, ordered to stay away from the alleged victim, a female.

Dale Carter, 66, of Edgartown, pleaded guilty to a May 13 charge in Vineyard Haven of drunken driving, second offense. Sentenced to one year in the house of correction, suspended for 30 months, placed on probation, ordered into 14-day inpatient treatment program plus after care and to pay a monthly $65 probation services fee plus $350 in other fees and assessments. Restitution was to be determined. Also admitted to sufficient facts on a charge of negligent operation of a motor vehicle, case was continued without a finding for two years, assessed $250. Also found responsible for a state highway traffic violation and fined $20.

Nov. 10

Ann Tuerff, 51, of West Tisbury, arraigned on Nov. 9 charges in West Tisbury of operating a motor vehicle with a license suspended for OUI, uninsured motor vehicle, operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, and a speeding violation. Bail set at $1,500, ordered to submit to random alcohol screens, Nov. 18 pretrial hearing was set.

Wellington W. Ramos, 25, of Quincy, found guilty after a bench trial of Jan. 1 charges in Vineyard Haven of drunken driving and failure to stop for police. Placed on probation for one year and ordered into an alcohol education program, to forfeit his license for 45 days and to pay a monthly $65 probation fee plus $700 in other fees and assessments. Acquitted of charges of negligent operation of a motor vehicle and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and found not responsible for a speeding violation.

Nov. 14

Luiz C. DeOliveira, 48, of Vineyard Haven, arraigned on Nov. 13 charges in Oak Bluffs of drunken driving, fourth offense, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license for OUI and two traffic violations. Bail set at $10,000 cash or $100,000 surety, Dec. 8 pretrial hearing scheduled.

Robert S. Maclean, 55, of Vineyard Haven, arraigned on a Nov. 10 charge in Vineyard Haven of drunken driving. Dec. 9 pretrial hearing scheduled.

Sean S. Steves, 48, of Chilmark, arraigned on Nov. 11 charge in West Tisbury of assault and battery. Dec. 9 pretrial hearing set, ordered to avoid any further abuse of the alleged victim, a female.

John L. Harl, 32, of Edgartown, pleaded guilty to a disorderly conduct charge stemming from a Sept. 26 arrest in Oak Bluffs and fined $150. An assault and battery charge was dismissed at the request of the commonwealth.
