Please Adopt Us

The Animal Shelter of Martha’s Vineyard has two beautiful all-black cats who would love to come to your house to scare away the goblins! Ceilia has become one of our shelter mascots — she sits on the desk and greets everyone who come in the door, even dogs and other cats. She has silky smooth black fur and just loves to be petted.

The other black cat is Bart, a handsome fellow who is only two years old and is very gentle and sweet.

Our other great cats available for adoption are: Chloe, who is brindle and black; Annabelle, who is black with lovely white markings; Storm, practically a kitten herself who had a litter of kittens who were all adopted, a tabby and white; Henry, a male tabby who is not too fond of other cats but loves people; Napoleon, a handsome, big Maine coon cat; Graham, a long-haired gray and white cat and one of our newest additions; Jolly, also a new addition, ginger and white cat, an older cat who really needs to find a new home.

One sad story involves Butter, who was adopted but brought back to the shelter because she wants to be an indoor/outdoor cat and her new owner wanted her to be just an indoor cat. She is a lovely calico, three years old.

Shelter hours are Wednesdays 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Thursdays and Fridays 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and Saturdays 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The shelter is closed Sunday through Tuesday. The telephone number is 508-627-8662.
