The following cases were heard in Edgartown district court

Sept. 26

Jemima James, 61, of Vineyard Haven, arraigned on Sept. 25 charges in Chilmark of drunken driving and negligent operation of motor vehicle, plus lanes and lights violations. Pretrial hearing scheduled for Nov. 4.

Sept. 30

Nelson M. Ferreira, 35, of Edgartown, admitted sufficient facts on a July 24 charge in Edgartown of assault and battery, continued without a finding for 18 months. Ordered to pay monthly $50 probation supervision fee, be evaluated for possible anger management counseling and alcohol screening and to refrain from abusing the female victim.

Oct. 3

Jerrell C. Jones, 33, of St. Albans, N.Y., arraigned on a Sept. 30 charge in Oak Bluffs of domestic assault and battery involving a 38-year-old woman. Pretrial hearing scheduled for Nov. 14.

Oct. 7

Alyson E. Woollacott, 33, of Fall River, arraigned on June 18 and June 20 Oak Bluffs charges of larceny by check under $250. Pretrial hearing scheduled for Nov. 18.

Wanda B. Higgins, 49, of West Tisbury, admitted to sufficient facts on an August 11 drunken driving charge, and it was continued without a finding for one year. Ordered to surrender license for 45 days, pay $65 monthly probation supervision fee and $600 in other fees and assessments and to complete a driver alcohol education program.

Richard Abrazinski, 49, Edgartown, had his arraignment continued until Nov. 3 on August 21 charges in Oak Bluffs of breaking and entering of a building/daytime for a felony, larceny from a building and larceny over $250. Accused of taking a cash register containing about $4,000 from Murdick’s Fudge.

Semen Gladkoskok, 24, of Oak Bluffs and Quincy, admitted to sufficient facts on a July 9 drunken driving charge in Oak Bluffs, continued without a finding for a year. Also lost his license for 45 days and ordered to pay a $65 monthly probation supervision fee plus $350 in other fees and assessments. Also admitted to sufficient facts on a July 25 Oak Bluffs charge of operating an uninsured motor vehicle, continued without a finding for a year, with probation to run concurrently with the July 9 case. Also fined $100 for speeding. In a third case, a July 25 charge of possessing a class E drug (Aderall) was dismissed.

Oct. 11

Michael J. Lasek, 32, of Edgartown, arraigned on Oct. 10 charges in Edgartown of domestic assault and battery, intimidating a witness and malicious destruction of property over $250 (vehicle windshield). Bail set at $600 and a pretrial hearing scheduled for Nov. 21. Ordered to have no contact with the alleged victim, a 29-year-old woman, and refrain from using alcohol.

Lilian Silveira, 48, of West Tisbury, arraigned on Oct. 10 charges in West Tisbury of drunken driving, second offense; negligent operation of motor vehicle and a lane violation. Pretrial hearing scheduled for Nov. 3.

Tara M. Araujo, 38, of Vineyard Haven, arraigned on an Oct. 8 charge in Vineyard Haven of drunken driving, second offense, and on lights (broken taillight) and expired inspection sticker violations. Pretrial hearing set for Nov. 21.

Seth A. Butynski, 31, of Edgartown, arraigned on Oct. 10 charges in Edgartown of drunken driving and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license. Pretrial hearing set for Nov. 21.

Jose J. Abarca, 40, of New Rochelle, N.Y., arraigned on Oct. 10 Oak Bluffs charges of drunken driving, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and possession of an open container of alcohol in the vehicle. Nov. 3 pretrial hearing scheduled.

Daniel T. Haggerty, 26, of Needham, arraigned on Oct. 8 charges in Chilmark of drunken driving, second offense; negligent operation of motor vehicle, possession of open alcohol container in a vehicle, and on marked lanes and lights violations. Pretrial hearing scheduled for Nov. 21.
