Poetry Reading

On Tuesday, Sept. 27, at 5 p.m. Fan Ogilvie and Leslie Prosterman will give a reading at the West Tisbury Library in celebration of Ms. Prosterman’s new book of poetry, Snapshots and Dances.

Ms. Prosterman’s work has appeared in various publications including The Folklore Muse and Brevitas. She is currently a senior fellow at the Vera List Center for Art and Politics at the New School University in New York city, a cultural activist, and a sometime student of trapeze.

Fan Ogilvie has been the poet laureate of West Tisbury for the last three years. For many years she taught poetry at Featherstone Center for the Arts and is the cofounder with Justen Ahren of the Summer Poetry Festival at Featherstone which has showcased many Island poets as well as nationally recognized poets, such as Billy Collins and Naomi Shihab Nye.

The reading is free and open to the public.
