The following cases were heard in Edgartown district court.

August 29

Douglas R. Gordon, 49, of Vineyard Haven, arraigned on charges of operating under the influence of alcohol, possession of an open container and unsafe passing, stemming from August 28 arrest in Aquinnah. Pleaded not guilty, released on $100 bail, bail warning given. Pretrial hearing scheduled for Sept. 26.

August 31

Timothy J. Schreck 2nd, 18, of Edgartown, arraigned on charges of larceny from building (three offenses), larceny over $250 (two offenses), larceny under $250 and shoplifting by concealing merchandise. Offenses occurred on July 23, August 13 and August 30. Released on personal recognizance.

Sept. 1

Jared E. Fisher, 28, of Edgartown, arraigned on charge of assault and battery. Offense occurred on Sept. 1, $400 surety set and posted, bail warning given.

Julie A Hogrefe, 19, of Narragansett, R.I., arraigned on charge of shoplifting by concealing merchandise. Offense occurred on August 31. Charge to be dismissed if $200 in costs paid by Sept. 9.

Daniel Adams, 34, of Oak Bluffs, faced charge of receiving stolen property less than $250. Offense occurred on Feb. 26. Charge dismissed at request of commonwealth.

Marcio Alves, 41, of Edgartown, faced charges of assault and battery (two offenses). Placed on pretrial probation until Feb. 29, 2012, further ordered not to abuse victim.

Lindon J. Barrett, 23, of Oak Bluffs, arraigned on charges of assault and battery and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (two offenses, one with a knife and one with a shod foot). Offense occurred on August 12. All charges dismissed without prejudice at request of commonwealth.

Armecy Deoliveira, 53, of Edgartown faced charges of failure to stop/yield, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and failure to wear a seat belt. Offense occurred on Sept. 16, 2003, arraignment on August 1 after defendant turned himself in on default warrant. Found responsible for failure to stop/yield and failure to wear a seat belt. Ordered to pay $125 in fines. Unlicensed operation charge to be dismissed upon payment of $100 in costs.

Jose F. Filho, 44, of Vineyard Haven, faced charges of operating a motor vehicle with license suspended and operating a motor vehicle with registration suspended. Offense occurred on August 14, arraignment was on August 15. Found guilty on both charges, ordered to pay $500 in fines and $50 monthly probation services fee. Placed on probation until Feb. 29, 2012. Further ordered not to drive without a valid license.

Ricardo S. Fortes, 18, of Edgartown, faced charges of false/misuse of a liquor ID card/license, forgery of document and uttering false writing. Offense occurred on August 14, arraignment was on August 15. Forgery and false writing charges dismissed at request of commonwealth. Placed on pretrial probation until August 29, 2012, for remaining charge and ordered to graduate from high school.

Greison D. Jorge, 29, of Oak Bluffs, faced charges of unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, uninsured motor vehicle, unregistered motor vehicle, speeding in violation of a special regulation, marked lanes violation and motor vehicle operator refusal to identify self. Offense occurred on July 11, arraignment was on August 11. Unlicensed operation charge to be dismissed if $100 in costs paid and eight hours community service completed. Found responsible for speeding and marked lanes violations and ordered to pay $135 in fines. Found not responsible for unregistered motor vehicle charge. Remaining charges dismissed at request of commonwealth.

Ashani A. Pollock, 19, of Oak Bluffs, faced charges of assault and battery, assault with a dangerous weapon and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (weapons were a knife and a shod foot). Offense occurred on August 12, arraignment on same day. All charges dismissed at request of commonwealth.

Kevin R. Sturtevant, 34, of Plymouth, faced charges of larceny over $250 and disorderly conduct. Offense occurred on July 24, arraignment on July 25. Charges to be dismissed if $200 in costs paid by Sept. 7.

Marcione Vidal, 26, of Vineyard Haven, issued a default warrant for failing to appear at arraignment on charges of negligent operation of a motor vehicle and leaving the scene of personal injury. Offense occurred on June 23. Arraignment rescheduled for Sept. 30.

Caleb W. Bacon, 20, of Peterborough, N.H., faced charge of unlawful wiretap and disorderly conduct. Charges dismissed at request of commonwealth.

Armecy Deoliveira, 53, of Edgartown, found responsible for 2003 charge of improper operation of a motor vehicle and fined $35. Charge of unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle to be dismissed upon payment of $100 court costs. Third charge of forging/misusing a motor vehicle inspection sticker dismissed.

Sanja J. Steer, 22, of Oak Bluffs, had charges of assault and battery, assault with a dangerous weapon (a knife), and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (shod foot) dismissed when commonwealth failed to prosecute after a witness failed to appear at trial. Case stemmed from an August 12 complaint.

Szilard Vincze, 21, of Edgartown, pleaded guilty to negligent operation of a motor vehicle, ordered to perform 20 hours of community service. Placed on a year’s probation and ordered to pay a $50 monthly probation fee. Admitted sufficient facts to additional charge of failing to stop, which was continued without a finding, and found not responsible on speeding and marked lane violations. Arrested July 31 on Barnes Road.

Sept. 2

Sean M. Geddis, 18, of Edgartown, arraigned on charges of assault and battery and resisting arrest. Offense occurred on Sept. 2.

Denis Kharin, 20, of Vineyard Haven, had case disposed prior to arraignment on charges of assault and battery and disorderly conduct. Offense occurred on September 1. Charges dismissed at request of commonwealth.

Jennifer Nash, 26, of Derby, Conn., arraigned on charge of unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. Offense occurred on Sept. 2. Charge to be dismissed if $100 in costs paid forthwith.

Craig A. Brooks, 36, of Edgartown, faced charge of violating an abuse prevention order. Offense occurred on August 8, 2010, arraignment was following day. Defendant pleaded guilty and ordered to pay $50 fine. Placed on probation until August 29, 2012.

Jonathan H. Hix, 31, of Weatherford, Tex., faced charges of assault and battery and disorderly conduct. Offense occurred on June 7, arraignment was following day. Pleaded guilty to both charges, placed on probation until August 29, 2012, ordered to pay $50 fine and $50 monthly probation services fee. Sentence of six months in a house of correction suspended for one year. Must report to probation monthly by phone, verify enrollment in a treatment or alcohol counseling program within 30 days via fax to probation, remain alcohol free and verify address to probation.

Ry S. Yennie, 22, of West Tisbury faced charges of operating under the influence of liquor and speeding. Offense occurred on August 17. Admitted sufficient facts to operating under the influence, case continued without a finding until August 29, 2012. Ordered to pay $300 in fines and a $65 monthly probation services fee. Must attend 24-day alcohol education class, will lose license for 45 days. Found not responsible for speeding.

Craig A. Brooks, 36, of Edgartown, pleaded guilty to assault and battery, placed on a year’s probation and ordered to pay a monthly probation fee of $50. Also ordered to stay away from victim. Charge of indecent assault and battery on a person 14 years or older dismissed. Offenses occurred in July 2010.
