The following cases were heard in Edgartown district court.

August 18

Michael Gaffey, 52, of Oak Bluffs, faced charges of larceny by check under $250. Offenses occurred on July 14, July 15 and August 27, 2009. Charges dismissed by the commonwealth.

Kurt J. Krokenberger, 20, of Rochester, faced charges of false/misuse of a liquor ID card/license and attempt to procure liquor by a person under the age of 21. Offense occurred on August 10. Charges to be dismissed if $200 in costs paid by August 24.

Michael P. Leahy, 18, of Edgartown, faced charge of assault with a dangerous weapon (a knife). Offense occurred on July 31. Defendant admitted to sufficient facts, case continued without a finding until August 15, 2012. Defendant ordered to pay $50 in fines and $50 monthly probation services fee.

Robert C. Manning, 28, of Vineyard Haven, faced charges of three counts of larceny under $250. Offenses occurred on Dec. 22, 2010. Sufficient facts found, case continued without a finding until August 15, 2012. Defendant ordered to pay $230 in fines and $50 monthly probation services fee beginning January 2012.

Carlos G. Montoya Jr., 69, of Chilmark, arraigned on charge of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license. Offense occurred on June 9. Charges to be dismissed if $100 in costs paid by August 24.

Maureen M. Murray, 43, of Oak Bluffs filed motion for arraignment on charges of obtaining a drug by fraud and larceny of drug to be moved to Sept. 9. Offense occurred on May 24, 2010.

Alexandra L. Smith, 17, of Fairhaven, faced charge of shoplifting by asportation. Offense occurred on July 5. Charges to be dismissed if $200 in costs paid by October 19.

August 19

Austin S. White, 23, of Edgartown, faced charges of keeping a noisy and disorderly house, selling/delivering liquor to a person under 21 and a municipal bylaw or ordinance violation. Offense occurred on June 26. Disorderly house and municipal bylaw violation charges to be dismissed if $200 paid by August 31. Defendant on pretrial probation until Nov. 16 for remaining charge.

Benjamin R. Wolfe, 27, of Charlton, faced charges of operating a motor vehicle with suspended license, no inspection/sticker and registration not in possession. Offense occurred on July 6. License suspended charge to be dismissed if $200 in fines paid forthwith. Defendant found not responsible for remaining charges.

Dr. Edward T. Wood, 79, of Old Westbury, arraigned on charges of cutting/destroying trees (three counts) and trespassing for tree/plant/fruit. Offense occurred on Sept. 30, 2010. Reading waived and not guilty pleas entered at arraignment. Bail warning given.

Lee Ann Yeddo, 48, of Oak Bluffs faced charge of assault. Offense occurred on June 30. Placed on probation until May 16, 2012.

Joshua J. Flanders, 22, of Vineyard Haven, faced charges of operating under the influence of liquor, no inspection/sticker and number plate violation. Offense occurred on May 31. Defendant admitted to sufficient facts to operating under the influence, case was continued without a finding until August 15, 2012. Ordered to pay $300 in fines and $65 monthly probation services fee. Also ordered to attend 24D alcohol education class and will lose driver’s license for 45 days. Found not responsible for remaining charges.

Richard Abrazinski, 49, of Edgartown had arraignment on charges of possession of a class E drug continued to August 25. Offense occurred on July 17.

Ethan Canfield, 21, of Newtown, faced charge of larceny under $250. Defendant admitted to sufficient facts, case continued without a finding until August 15, 2012. Ordered to pay $50 in fines and $50 monthly probation services fee.

Thomas G. Donahue, 28, of Pittsburgh, Pa., faced charges of speeding in violation of a special regulation, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and operating under the influence of liquor. Admitted sufficient facts to operating under the influence, case was continued without a finding until August 15, 2012. Ordered to pay $600 in fines and a $65 monthly probation services fee. Further ordered to attend 24D alcohol education class and will lose driver’s license for 45 days. Found not responsible for speeding, negligent operation charge dismissed by the commonwealth.

August 22

Claire M. Allman, 18, of Manhattan Beach, Calif., arraigned on charges of attempt to procure liquor by a person under the age of 21 and false/misuse of a liquor ID card/license. Offense occurred on August 19. Placed on pretrial probation until Feb. 22, 2012, and ordered to pay $400 in fines and costs.

Robert J. Becchio, 53, of Vineyard Haven, arraigned on charges of operating under the influence of liquor, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and driving the wrong way on a state highway. Offense occurred on August 21. Bail set at $200 and posted.

Susan L. Chapman, 48, of Chilmark, arraigned on charges of operating under the influence of liquor, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and a marked lanes violation. Offense occurred on August 19. Bail set at $200 and posted, bail warning given.

Asa W. French, 26, of Vineyard Haven, arraigned on charges of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and no inspection/sticker. Offense occurred on August 19. Bail set at $100 bail and posted.

Jaime B. Gaspar, 60, of Vineyard Haven, arraigned on charges of rape, indecent assault and battery on a person 14 or over and assault and battery. Offense occurred on August 20. Commonwealth declined to prosecute.

Sofia B. Hart, 18, of Vineyard Haven, arraigned on charge of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license. Offense occurred on August 20. Bail set at $100 and posted.

Nathaniel Kistler, 48, of Edgartown, arraigned on charge of assault and battery. Offense occurred on August 20. Released on personal recognizance, bail warning given, defendant ordered not to abuse alleged victim.

Drew Moreis, 18, of Vineyard Haven, arraigned on charge of assault and battery. Offense occurred on August 20. Released on personal recognizance, bail warning given, defendant ordered not to abuse the alleged victim.

Henry Ryerson, 26, of Chilmark, arraigned on charge of operating under the influence of liquor. Offense occurred on August 21. Bail set at $200 and posted.

William N. Smith, 39, of Vineyard Haven, arraigned on charge of violating an abuse prevention order. Offense occurred on August 21. Released on personal recognizance and a bail warning was given.

Dale L. Walker, 44, of West Tisbury was arraigned on the charge of a municipal bylaw or ordinance violation. Offense occurred on Jan. 20. Arraignment originally scheduled for April 8. Arrested on a default warrant on August 22. Released on personal recognizance.

Jan Zelenka, 26, of Oak Bluffs, arraigned on charges of unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, operating a motor vehicle with registration suspended and uninsured motor vehicle. Offense occurred on August 20. Bail set at $100 and posted.

Duane B. Dillard, 69, of Hagerstown, Md., had arraignment on charge of assault and battery to intimidate continued to Sept. 26. Offense occurred on June 24.

William T. Dunlop, 21, of Ipswich, faced charges of false/misuse liquor ID card/license and procurement of liquor by a person under the age of 21. Offense occurred on July 20. Defendant released on personal recognizance. Placed on pretrial probation until Feb. 22, 2012, and ordered to complete 12 hours of community service.

John H. Fidler, 3rd, 19, of East Hampton, Conn., faced charge of possession of liquor by a person under the age of 21. Offense occurred on July 15. Case dismissed at request of the commonwealth.

Joshua A. Guy, 33, of Leominster, faced 2008 charge of assault and battery. Offense occurred on Nov. 10, 2006. Arraignment scheduled for March 23, 2007, defendant failed to appear and a series of default warrants were issued. Defendant was released on personal recognizance and a bail warning was given. Case was disposed on August 22. Defendant was found guilty and placed on probation until August 22, 2012. Defendant further ordered to pay $50 in fines and a $50 monthly probation services fee.

Matthew J. Latter, 19, of Beverly, arraigned on July 20 on charge of procurement of liquor by a person under 21. Offense occurred on July 20. Defendant released on personal recognizance and bail warning given. Charges to be dismissed if four hours community service completed. Status review scheduled for Sept. 21.

Brian P. Lewis, 20, of North Attleboro, faced charge of possession of liquor by a person under 21. Case dismissed upon the request of the commonwealth.

Philip R. Mendes, 21, of Westborough, faced charge of indecent exposure. Offense occurred on July 25. Case dismissed upon request of the commonwealth.

Tyler S. Raddatz, 20, of East Hampton, Conn., faced charge of possession of liquor by a person under 21. Offense occurred on July 15. Case dismissed at request of the commonwealth.

Nicholas P. Sabilia, 20, of Oakdale, Conn., faced charge of possession of liquor by a person under 21. Case dismissed at request of the commonwealth.

Shane Schofield, 19, of Edgartown, faced charge of disorderly conduct. Case dismissed at request of commonwealth.

Ivan J. Steinle, 17, of North Haven, Conn., faced charge of shoplifting by concealing merchandise. Charges to be dismissed if $200 in fines paid forthwith.

Dennis A. Vogel, 53, of New Bedford, faced charges of uninsured motor vehicle, operating a motor vehicle with registration suspended, no inspection/sticker, operating a motor vehicle with license suspended and possession of a class C drug. Offense occurred on July 18. Uninsured motor vehicle charge to be dismissed if 12 hours community service completed. Found not responsible for not having an inspection/sticker and operating with registration suspended, charge also dismissed by the commonwealth. Remaining charges dismissed at request of the commonwealth.

August 23

Una M. Donnelly, 44, of Edgartown, arraigned on charge of assault and battery. Offense occurred on August 22. Released on personal recognizance, bail warning given.

Thomas D. Williams 3rd, 43, of Basking Ridge, N.J., arraigned on charges of operating under the influence of liquor, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, marked lanes violation and failure to stop/yield. Offense occurred on August 23. Released on personal recognizance and bail warning given.

Christopher Montt, 20, of Forestdale, arraigned on charges of attempt to procure liquor by a person under 21 and false/misuse of a liquor ID card/license. Offense occurred on August 22. Released on personal recognizance and a bail warning was given.
