Marie Lemieux, 43, of Edgartown, arraigned on charges of uttering a false prescription. Offense occurred on August 9. Defendant released on personal recognizance and bail warning given.

August 11

Wade G. Jones, 40, of Millsboro, Del., arraigned on charges of operating under the influence of alcohol and speeding in violation of a special regulation. Offense occurred on August 11. Bail set at $200 and posted, bail warning given.

Euzilene Alves, 39, of Oak Bluffs, arraigned on charges of unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and failure to yield at an intersection. Offense occurred on July 18. Arraignment had been continued from July 18. Pleaded guilty to unlicensed operation and ordered to pay $100 fine. Found not responsible for failure to yield.

Michael C. Boyd, 44, of Edgartown, faced charges of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. Offense occurred on April 27; arraignment was same day. Released on personal recognizance, bail warning given. Defendant further ordered not to abuse alleged victims or family members. Case disposed upon request of the victim.

Maria C. Costa, 30, of Vineyard Haven, arraigned on charges of unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and failure to yield at an intersection. Offense occurred on June 16. Ordered to pay $135 in costs.

Wellington J. Marcal, 32, of Edgartown, arraigned on charges of unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and crosswalk violation. Offense occurred on June 4. Ordered to pay $300 in costs and complete eight hours of community service. Charge for unlicensed operation will be dismissed if court costs are paid by Sept. 7.

Euclides S. Neto, 27, of Vineyard Haven, arraigned on charges of unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and unregistered motor vehicle. Offense occurred on April 19. Arraignment originally scheduled for July 7. Ordered to pay $300 in costs and complete 16 hours of community service. Unlicensed operation charge to be dismissed if costs are paid and community service completed by Oct. 12.

Josias F. Pinto, 48, of Edgartown, arraigned on unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and speeding in violation of a special regulation. Offense occurred on July 10. Arraignment originally scheduled for July 11. Released on personal recognizance, ordered to pay $400 in costs and complete eight hours of community service. Unlicensed operation charge to be dismissed if costs paid and community service completed by Sept. 7.

Ann Tuerff, 41, of West Tisbury, arraigned on June 6 on charges of operating under the influence of liquor (second offense), possessing an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle and negligent operation of a motor vehicle. Offense occurred on May 28. Bail set at $300 bail and posted, bail warning given. Pleaded guilty to operating under the influence and ordered to pay $100 in fines and a $65 monthly probation services fee. Defendant on probation until August 7, 2013, sentenced to 90 days in a house of correction, suspended for two years, must attend 14-day inpatient and aftercare. Found not responsible for possessing alcohol in a motor vehicle and admitted to sufficient facts to negligent operation, continued without a finding until August 7, 2013.

Alexander R. Alves, 23, of Hyannis, arraigned on June 27 on charges of license plate violation and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. Offense occurred on June 26. Bail set at $100 bail and posted. Found not responsible for license plate violation, unlicensed operation charge dismissed upon request of the commonwealth.

Weliton Gomes Dos Reis, 25, of Milford, arraigned on charges of unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. Offense occurred on June 8. Ordered to pay $200 in costs. Charges to be dismissed if paid forthwith.

Christopher A. Menne, 28, of West Tisbury, faced charges of operating under the influence, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and marked lanes violation. Offense occurred on April 8; arraignment on June 8. Ordered to pay $600 in fines and $65 monthly probation services fee. Also ordered to attend 24-day program and 45-day loss of license. Negligent operation of a motor vehicle charge dismissed by commonwealth, found not responsible for marked lanes violation.

Gentil B. Silva, 52, of Vineyard Haven, arraigned on charges of unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and use of a motor vehicle without authority. Offense occurred on June 3.

August 12

Samuel P. Allen, 19, of Weston, Conn., faced charges of operating under the influence of alcohol and speeding in violation of a special regulation. Offense occurred on July 4; arraignment was on July 5. Admitted to sufficient facts to operating under the influence, case was continued without a finding until August 8, 2012. Ordered to pay $300 in fines and a $65 monthly probation services fee. Must also attend a 24-day program and will lose his license for 210 days. Found not responsible for speeding in violation of special regulation.

Martin J. Kelly, 37, of Edgartown, arraigned on charges of conspiracy to violate drug law. Offense occurred on June 4. Bail warning was given, no bail set.

Joseph E. Samuel, 20, of Merrick, N.Y., faced charges of false/misuse of a liquor ID card/license and intimidating a witness. Offense occurred on July 15; arraignment on July 18. Placed on pretrial probation until Feb. 8, 2012 and ordered to pay $500 in costs. Witness intimidation charge dismissed upon request of the commonwealth.

Tiago Souza, 25, of Vineyard Haven, charged with rape and assault and battery, but not arraigned. Offense occurred on July 22. Commonwealth declined to prosecute.

Ross A. Hathaway, 20, of Edgartown, arraigned on charges of unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and speeding in violation of a special regulation. Offense occurred on June 2.

Christopher W. Melnik, 32, of Holyoke, faced charges of operating under the influence of liquor, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, speeding and marked lanes violation. Offense occurred on June 11; arraignment on June 13. Admitted to sufficient facts to operating under the influence and ordered to pay $600 in fines, attend 24-day program and a 45-day loss of license. Must also complete 100 hours of community service, placed on probation until August 7, 2013, must remain alcohol free for first year. Pleaded guilty to negligent operation and found not responsible for speeding and marked lanes violation charges.

Isaac H. Margulis, 22, of the Bronx, N.Y., arraigned on charges of operating under the influence of liquor, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and speeding. Offense occurred on August 14. Bail set at $300 and posted, bail warning given.

Desmod Pinkham, 18, of Vineyard Haven, arraigned on charges of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (a rock). Offense occurred on August 15. Released on personal recognizance, bail warning given.

Brian W. Mahoney, 19, of Braintree, arraigned on charges of attempt to procure liquor by a person under 21 and false/misuse of a liquor ID card/license. Offense occurred on August 13. Ordered to pay $350 and placed on pretrial probation until Feb. 15, 2012. False ID card charge dismissed by the commonwealth.

Jake M. Warner, 19, of Calabasas, Calif., arraigned on charges of an attempt to procure liquor by a person under 21 and misuse/false liquor ID card/license. Offense occurred on August 13. Placed on pretrial probation until Feb. 15, 2012. False ID charge dismissed upon request of the commonwealth.

Leandro S. Lemos, 33, of Chilmark, arraigned on charges of operator send/read electronic message and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license. Offense occurred on August 16. Released on personal recognizance, bail warning given, defendant promised to pay $100.
