More violations to state bidding laws may be added to the growing list of problems in Oak Bluffs.

Town counsel Ronald H. Rappaport told selectmen on Tuesday afternoon that he had been contacted by the state Attorney General’s office about additional complaints of possible violations to the state’s public bidding laws.

Although he did not use names, Mr. Rappaport said the complaints involved town contracts that were awarded to four “specifically-named entities,” and that he had been asked by the attorney general to look into the complaints. Mr. Rappaport sought and received the selectmen’s permission to investigate the complaints.

The town attorney said he did not know when the alleged violations took place. “I have no idea,” he said. “I don’t know if these are projects that have gone out to bid or what, but I think we should be responsive.”

Early this month the attorney general issued a strong reprimand to the town for violating the state bidding laws on a number of contracts for projects between 2009 to 2011.
