Windemere Auction Party Tonight

Nestled amidst the Martha’s Vineyard Hospital is the elderly housing wing known as Windemere. In a way, the hospital sort of hugs the complex, literally encircling the building, and figuratively by giving the residents the much needed care they deserve.

But living at Windemere is not about staying at the hospital. Rather, residents take part in the abundance of activities the Vineyard has to offer. One of the ways this is possible is through the annual Windemere live auction event.

This year’s auction takes place tonight, June 10 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Agricultural Hall in West Tisbury.

The evening includes light food snacks, wine and sweets and a chance to bid on unique items: Catered meals, trips abroad, rounds of golf, sailing trips, and much, much more.

Proceeds go to making sure Windemere residents get out on the town to experience whatever continues to interest them: Visiting art galleries, a night out at the theatre, lectures at the museum, lunch at Farm Neck or the Bite and the end of season dinner at the Home Port; the list is as long as the Gazette’s calendar section in summer.
