On Saturday, Dec. 18, there will be a giant fundraiser to celebrate Haiti’s strength and perseverance. The word giant is no mere hyperbole, either.

The music will be giant. Kahoots, Master Exploder, Philly D., Goodnight Louise, Deeja Di, DCLA, Island Thunder, Mercy Beat, Erich Luening, Meghan LaRoque, Rick Bausman and the Drum Workshop and Kevin Keady are all in, and the list is growing.

The activities will be giant. There will be a potluck, an art auction, hula hooping with Coco the Clown, and much, much more, organizers promise.

The spirit will be giant. The event is a fundraiser hosted by a group of Martha’s Vineyard artists supporting SolidaritéHaïtienne, a grassroots non-profit organization founded and run by a Port-au-Prince community to rebuild the ChristRoi Health Clinic and elementary school, destroyed by the earthquake. The kid-friendly event will take place at the Ocean Club in Oak Bluffs and run from 5 p.m. until midnight.
